Hello all,

I’m 38 weeks and recently tested positive for GBS which threw me for a spin. I know IV antibiotics are standard for treatment, but I’m wondering how this impacted your labor experience. For context, I have been hoping to go into labor spontaneously and have minimal interventions.

My Ob said that if my water breaks we should call since they will want us to go in sooner, and if I’m not progressing they will likely need to induce me to reduce risk of infection. If my water does not break though, I should be able to labor longer at home as long as I go in in time for the IV antibiotics.
