I’ve been a loyal JioFiber Postpaid user in Bihar for 5 years. I’m currently on the 30 Mbps plan and my bill is consistently ₹588 (₹399 base + ₹100 "Entertainment" add-on + 18% GST).
The problem is that my cousin, who also has a Jio Set-Top Box and the same 30 Mbps speed, only pays ₹471 (₹399 + GST).
Here is the situation:
I am being charged for "Entertainment" apps like Eros Now and ShemarooMe that I never use.
I only use the Set-Top Box for YouTube and News.
I’ve already paid over ₹7,000 in "add-on" fees over the last 5 years, which is way more than the cost of the box itself.
Every time I try to remove the add-on, I'm told I might have to return the Set-Top Box because I’m on a "Zero Entry" Postpaid plan.
My Questions:
Has anyone successfully removed the ₹100 "Entertainment Bonanza" fee while keeping the Set-Top Box for YouTube?
Is it better to close this account and get a new "Prepaid" connection to get the ₹471 rate?
Since I've paid this fee for 5 years, can I argue that I've already "paid off" the box and should get the base rate now?
Would love to hear from anyone who has managed to lower their bill to the basic ₹399 + GST rate.
