I bought my grv6 with cash money, no bargains and no begging. When I bought my first motorbike, I had to finance. When I bought my first phone, I had to finance and so many other things. My grv6 is a special. I paid cash at a reputable pioneer distributer, I even paid more by a few hundred dollars. I havent been playing the whole of this week as my macbook ran into some issues.
Bear with me family. As soon as I get back on, probably this coming week. We shall continue exploring.
Goodbye for now and take care of your lovely gears.
Alpha theta should have included the “jog feel” knob on the grv6. Basic scratching on this controller feels so tight. It makes complete sense why they made the tempo slider short, you can have your palm going back and forth without touching the tempo slider. The sound quality is superior. Its touch sensitive so you must be easy with the scratching. When you apply excess pressure you might just face jog wheel issues.
I throw an echo effect after doing a backspin and it makes the backspin length to increase. This is the only entry level controller that is fully professional. I have hosted Gospel hiphop cyphers and its very easy to work with.
Alpha Theta Grv6 - A super perfomance controller.
The flx2, flx4 and the flx6 gets you prepared for the likes of flx10. This jet called grv6 gets you ready for the cdj-3000x
#Get the memo
$100 headphones by pioneer. Well I must appreciate the bass quality and the sound quality. This baby hits like tornado, very lightweight on the head. You can swing them however much you like and they won’t break. I compared them with a number of behringer like the hpx 6000 and the 1000 and some other fancy behringer including a new model called odeo if I can remember the name right. The cue 1 is still massive sound wise without a doubt.
The one problem I experience with this headphone is the hot eat when you wear them for too long, my ears tend to hurt. Apart from that, I strongly recommend even to the pros, I like the fact that you can twist it and hold it on one ear with your shoulder…isn’t that a real dj image.
How exactly did alpha theta cook this thing? The grv6 is fully packed and rich with lots of features. I know there is so many djs who look down upon the lack of xlrs and aux or other fancy inputs. Truth be told this controller is solid, I toom time to master the drum swapping and stems, I tell you no controller on earth can achieve the same, it doesn’t matter how well you midi map, the groove circuit is on its own class. The only controller with a groove circuit and it makes sense, lots of sense. The mic att is super sensitive, am able to get a cypher going with ease. I cant stop loving this app much. It’s unbelievable
When I started saving up for a new controller, I had the rev series in mind. Either the rev5 or the rev1 incase I come short of funds.
The moment I got some money, I was at this massive dj shop where they had all the different dj equipment and I had the chance to try each one I liked with my laptop before making my final decision.
When I plugged in the GRV6, I knew this is it. If you are planning to get a controller, go the alpha theta way and get the grv6.,and here are the reasons why the grv6 is the market-leading controller:
This is the only controller with a grv6 and also the first to have this feature. This is a game changer and I have had real life experience with the "on-fly" remix. It will make a dull record instantly stand out.
No doubt you are getting the club mixing experience with this controller. No fancy performance pads or lights, you have the little pads above the full sized jog wheels which are also upto standard. Don't get me wrong, the A9 experience might not be entirely true but grv6 gives you a stepping stone to the world of ultimate professional mixing. Not to mention it is fully professional on its own.
This was a huge selling point for me. Now you cant plug in aux or cdjs on this unit. Channel 3 & 4 are virtual and can be turned on just by clicking a button and they can also be loaded just by clicking a button. You do not have to switch to the deck in order to load it.
Lastly, you get to save money by buying this controller. The build quality is plastic but so is the rev5 which also costs more.......the cdjs are premium plastic. You need a dj controller, you get the rev5 and upgrade to the Xdj-AZ later in life.
#happy mixing with all your equipment
Edit: I have to remind you all that this is my very first controller. I refused to get all these beginner dj kits like the rev1 or flx2 or flx4 since I never wanted to pay extra money for serato pro licence. The small size of these controllers and their small size jogs didnt make sense to me. For years we have mapped virtual dj in college in all the clubs and pubs. No single joint had a controller or cdjs, for me its go big or stay virtual. My genesis is not very humble since I over payed for a bigger entry level but I love the damn thing. Its a party mover and a game changer
Since I bought my gear earlier this year. I have been using 2 decks only, have only used serato dj pro as my mac will not support rekordbox.
Yesterday I did 4 decks mixing. The experience is top notch. The grv6 is on another level with stems and the groove circuit.
Honestly I have never had a set so smooth and so nice, like I could feel the follow.
Prepared 24 tracks the previous night, had all the cue points ready and stems pre-analyzed. I killed a gospel hiphop set.
Anyone wants the grv6, go for it. The tempo slider is wack but keep the range on +16 or +50.
Every other aspect on this controller is golden, one more the sampler volume is not constant all through?? It would come out all loud at some instance then back to a desired level, I think its a serato pro thing maybe.
Lastly the sound is brilliant, I mean after recording, the aif file sounds like crispy juicy. Does serato pro improve the sound during recording because its not the same with what I hear when recording live.
Grv6 is a monster and value for your money. Am not missing anything from rev5 or flx10. This is everything. The groove circuit is holy fire. Will tell you my dj name on my next post
