Many startups are adding AI agents into existing workflows. But I’m wondering whether agents are not just a feature layer. To become real productivity infrastructure, agents may need a system around them: persistent context, tool access, permissions, human review, artifact management, and feedback loops. Without that, they may stay useful but limited. Should AI agents be treated as a full production system rather than just a product feature?

Slightly freaking out but also kind of excited? So I finally booked the trip I've been putting off for two years. Beijing → Xi'an → Chengdu, three weeks. I'm pumped but also lowkey terrified because my Chinese vocabulary literally starts and ends at "fried rice." I downloaded like four different apps trying to cram before I go. Most of them felt like sitting through a high school textbook very proper, very stiff, not sure any real human actually talks like that. The one that's actually been sticking for me is MandarinSOS for Travel. I'll be honest, first impression was "okay this is just another one of those" same vibe, same format. But I kept using it and something clicked maybe two weeks in. The phrases actually sound like how people talk, not like a phrasebook from 1997. Ordered food, asked for directions, even had a weird little back-and-forth with a guy at a market when I was practicing. Felt weirdly real. Still very much a beginner. Still going to embarrass myself constantly. But at least I feel like I'll be able to get through a taxi ride without just silently showing my phone at the driver. Anyone been to these cities recently? Any tips on situations where basic Mandarin actually helped you vs just using translation apps? Trying to figure out where it's worth the effort to actually speak vs just pulling out Google Translate.

I have an opportunity for those who are looking for some side gig, not a permanent income though.
