Hey everyone,
I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually worth upgrading parts of my setup, or if I’d just be wasting money for little to no real gain.
Current setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5500
- GPU: RX 6600
- RAM: 16GB 3600MHz
- Monitor: 1080p 165Hz (LG Ultragear 24GQ50F)
Peripherals:
- Mouse: Logitech G502 X
- Keyboard: Logitech G413 SE
- Headset: HyperX Cloud III
I’m currently around 2600 Elo and my goal is to push towards top EU, so I care a lot about consistency, input lag, and overall competitive performance.
I’ve been thinking about:
- Upgrading CPU (maybe 5600 / 5700X / 5800X3D?)
- Switching to a lighter mouse (G Pro X Superlight or similar)
- Possibly moving to a 240Hz monitor
The thing is, this isn’t a small expense for me, so I don’t want to throw money at upgrades that won’t actually make a meaningful difference.
From your experience, are any of these upgrades strictly necessary to compete at a very high level, or is my current setup already good enough and I should just focus on improving my gameplay?
Would really appreciate honest opinions 🙏
