Ordered Cat food on zepto and recieved rotten, spoiled, worm infested torn box. Replacement was another hassle. What to do?
I ordered a Whiskas box of 14 packets from Zepto and received rotten, spoiled packs of really poor quality. The smell was horrible and I genuinely don’t understand how nobody noticed it while packing. I instantly raised a complaint under “poor quality,” uploaded photos and an exchange was initiated immediately.
Since the original product was rotten, smelled bad and was worm or maggot infested, obviously the entire box needed to be exchanged. While checking the exchange details, I saw that the replacement was also showing as 1 unit and coming as a box, same as the original order, so I assumed it was a proper replacement for the full 14-pack box.
I had ordered this from my mom’s phone and right after all this happened my parents urgently had to leave somewhere. What was supposed to take 15 minutes ended up taking almost an hour because the replacement delivery took so long to arrive.
When the delivery partner finally came, he took photos and asked about the spoiled product. He then handed me the replacement box but it felt so light. I checked it immediately and found that there were only 2 packets of cat food inside the box instead of the original 14 packets????
When I asked the delivery partner about it, he said that I must have selected only 2 quantities during the exchange. I'm like bhai why tf would I ask for only 2 packets to be replaced when the entire 14 pack box was spoiled? He apologized and said he was only supposed to deliver whatever product was given to him, which I understand is probably not his fault. He advised me to raise another complaint on Zepto.
At that point my parents were already very late and very angry, so I asked the delivery partner if I could initiate another complaint later around 9 PM when my parents would be back and he said yes. So I told my parents to leave and that I would handle it later.
This entire order cost around ₹600 and my dad is already fuming because he never liked quick commerce apps in the first place and now this happened.
I'm not sure wth happened. Like did they see the photo I attached and went "hmm only 2 products look rotten and infested so we'll just replace 2" like how did they come up with replacing only 2 of them. It was smelling so bad. How tf am I supposed to look through which packet looks okay enough to feed my cat when the whole thing looks like mix of poop and worms. The original spoiled box has already been collected by the delivery partner during the exchange and now I only have the incorrect replacement box containing 2 packets.
I will be raising another complaint tonight regarding the missing products and incorrect replacement. Now, will they close the replacement window by then? I would have raised another complaint immediately if my parents did not had to go somewhere urgently by that time. Also, would these people be giving me correct replacement now? I at least appreciate a proper replacement or refund for the order or else my dad will not stop yelling at me. I'm so done.
