Has anyone seen anything like this? Small hovering black geometric lattice / mandala object (AI image attached for reference)

I’ve sat on this for years because it sounds bizarre, but I’m now genuinely curious whether anyone else has seen anything remotely similar.
Important:
The image attached is AI-generated as close as I could get, but it is not exact. The real object was:
- more intricate
- had thinner string-like structure
- had more visible points / peaks
- some points were longer / more pronounced
- was more delicate and beautiful overall
I used AI purely to get close to the geometry.
What happened
This was around 3–4 years ago.
It happened in broad daylight.
I was lying on my son’s bed, fully awake, just relaxing, when I noticed something hovering in the room.
Size
Roughly 30 cm across — around basketball sized.
Position
Approximately:
- 3 feet away from me
- hovering about 3–4 feet off the floor
So this wasn’t distant — it was very close.
Appearance
This is why I’ve never forgotten it, because the detail was extraordinary.
It was:
- matte black
- completely silent
- clearly 3D
- had crisp, sharp edges
- was see-through / open lattice
- made from what looked like extremely thin filament / string-like rods
- had multiple pointed peaks / spikes radiating outward
- very symmetrical / mathematical
- highly intricate, almost impossibly detailed
- had a mandala / sacred geometry / stellated polyhedron feel
- I believe it was slowly rotating
- because it was open structure, I could see parts of the room through it
- but it also partially blocked what was behind it, so it absolutely looked physically present in space
Closest comparison:

…but finer, thinner, more intricate, and more elegant than the AI image.
How it felt
Honestly:
absolute awe.
No fear.
No panic.
Just complete wonder.
The kind of moment where your brain almost takes a mental photograph because you instinctively know you’ll never forget it.
That’s exactly how it felt.
Years later, I can still picture it clearly.
How it ended
It:
- didn’t fly away
- didn’t fade
- didn’t collapse inward
It was simply:
«there one second — gone the next.»
Instantly gone.
No sound.
No movement away.
Just gone.

I’m not looking for ridicule or fantasy theories.
I’m simply asking:
Has anyone seen anything similar?
Particularly:
- small (~30 cm)
- black / matte black
- hovering indoors
- intricate geometric lattice / wireframe
- pointed / star-like / mandala-like
- possibly rotating
- silent
- suddenly vanished
