made this with left over parts from horse knight castle (moc) + few random pieces
Absolutely amazing moc by theghostbuild!
I was eyeing his design on rebrickable since a couple of days and thought I could make it myself.
Lol, had to buy the instructions and it was totally worth it.
The 3 builds that Lego offers for the Horse Knight Castle are horrid imo, and this is exactly what I needed.
Pairs nicely as a display with the 910001 Castle in the forest as well
Dun Myre — also known as Mirewood Keep — stood at the edge of the realm’s northern frontier.
Hidden deep within the marshlands, the old stronghold was wardened by the Blackwings and inhabited by their subjects, the Mirefolk.
One fateful evening, Karth of the Coilborn emerged from the swamp fog before Dun Myre, a shadowed host gathering silently behind him among the reeds and drowned pines.
Down the ridge and through the marsh mud came the powdermen with their crude firelocks, accompanied by reavers and other dark raiders.
Myrek, captain of the Blackwings, had only just stepped beyond the gate when he was attacked by the undead Drowned Watchman - an undead warrior of old, awakened through Karth’s dark methods.
Blackwing swordsman Lucen rushed to aid his captain, only to be intercepted by Wulfus, the fearsome outlaw whose name was feared throughout the frontier roads.
Then through the mist rode Torren - a young, brave Mirefolk rider - pear lowered as he charged between the two ongoing duels.
He had chosen to face Karth himself.
If the Coilborn knight fell, the raid would collapse before Dun Myre could be overrun.
Torren knew it.
And so he drove his spear forward.
Suddenly, purple fire split the fog as a lone figure stepped calmly between Torren and Karth.
Vael.
The horned sorcerer.
Torren’s mount reared violently before Vael’s presence. The young rider struggled to steady the terrified horse as witchfire spiraled around him.
Beyond the flames, he could see Karth smiling in the distance.
On the western side of the keep, Black Mara — leader of the reaving party— discovered a hidden cave entrance beneath Dun Myre.
A single, nervous Mirefolk swordsman stood in her way.
The two faced one another in silence, neither willing to yield the narrow passage.
Behind Black Mara, the powdermen leveled their firelocks, preparing to blast the cave defender apart.
Suddenly, arrows whistled from above.
Black Mara and her raiders threw themselves into cover as defending archers opened fire from the high battlements overlooking the cave approach. They screamed to their fellow defender to save himself.
Realising he could not hold the tunnel alone, the Mirefolk swordsman retreated deeper into the cave while Black Mara and her raiders rushed after him beneath the relentless rain of arrows.
Inside the tunnels below Dun Myre, the fleeing swordsman climbed desperately toward the inner halls above.
At the top of the shaft, he slipped through a hidden entrance, preparing to make his final stand within the keep itself.
Outside the walls, Wulfus had begun overpowering the young Blackwing knight.
Lucen staggered backward beneath the outlaw’s heavy strikes as steel rang across the bridge stones.
A little distance away, Captain Myrek at last ended his brutal struggle against the Drowned Watchman.
With a heavy handed strike, the Blackwing captain split the corpse-warrior apart at the waist, sending its rotting body crashing against the stones of Dun Myre.
been a castle fan since i was a kid but never had any castle sets, this is my first one
got my hands on this via a reseller for a little over $100, not sure what brand this is
surprisingly, everything is really good quality and looks beautiful
only one minifig has a not-that-good face print, so I just replaced it with a lego one
build was a bit frustrating in the beginning cuz of pieces being in random bags
but im super happy how this turned out
i've also just got the real lego horse knights castle and will build it soon
ok so let me just state that this isn't Lego
it's a chinese copy
i just can't afford the real one
