1998 Buick Century questions regarding repair
Hello all! I inherited my Mom's 1998 Buick Century. It's now got 107000 miles--when I came to live with her it had 50K miles. I use it to drive in the area and to work 4 x a week. I've put plenty into this car--it's clear my Mom didn't have too many things serviced/repaired. I just had new struts put in, and over the last 5+ years have had new tires (w/in the last year), brake pads, and more. In any case, the AC system has started to be spotty. For at least two years the dial hasn't reached full capacity; it won't turn past a certain point. I lived with that until the actual air stopped cooling. So my guy looked at it and replaced the blower, but I think it's a larger issue. It takes a long time for the cool air or hot air to come on, and then it fluctuates. So: is it worth continuing to put $ into this car? I really (really!) can't afford a car payment, I'm living paycheck to paycheck, so I'm hoping I can hold on to it for at least a few more years without sinking too much money into it. Does anyone know about how much I'll spend to repair the whole AC system? Thanks in advance for any advice!
