Lowest Mile LeSabre on the Planet?

There has to be a good chance I have stumbled upon the lowest mileage Buick LeSabre on this side of the Mississippi. Maybe someone could humble me. I'm a Buick nerd and was astonished these folks let it sit since 2016....

Runs and drives, needs tires and a new blower motor. I'm sure a few other things but damn...

Buick Lucerne 2010

I bought this Buick about a month ago and let me tell you it’s been a pleasure. 120k miles for 3500. Car was owned by a grandma and was grandpas gift to grandma. He took care of it and passed sway recently. It’s has its quirk’s like the front speakers are hot and miss but everything works otherwise. They upgraded the radio has CarPlay. Just a joy to drive. Changed the oil and have no complaints.

2002 Buick Lesabre issues

Hello,

I have been trying to get my ac going again but I am not sure what the problem is. When I tried to switch from cold to hot my whole car shut off. Any time I turn the car off with the ac on then it won’t turn back on unless I plug my battery charger up into it. The clutch is spinning when it is on and does not stop, the compressor is charged, the actuator under the glovebox is working fine. I am not sure what I am missing or if this is just the compressor itself. Obviously I don’t need the ac, I can roll down the windows, but I would like to get it fixed because I don’t know what else is affected by it not working.

Also, my fan blades will not spin. I know they work because I unplugged the coolant temperature sensor and they immediately kicked on. It was recently replaced so I have my doubts that’s what the issue is. Not sure what else I can do to get them going.

I’ve done my research into this and I have no idea where to start. The car runs fine other than these issues and I know how to fix the other issues I have but this is where I am stumped. Any help or constructive criticism is appreciated!

'17 LaCrosse Premium...

Better lighting right after a bath. I posted yesterday and someone thought the car was white. Throwing on the chrome OEM 20s real soon, just gotta get the vogues 1st. 😎

I really like this car alot and have had minor, minimal issues so far, which is to be expected with an American car with 120k miles. I'm only the 2nd owner tho and it's in amazing condition inside & out.

2022 Buick Enclave (weird carfax)

Hey everyone. I am close to purchasing a 2022 Buick Enclave Sport Touring Essence. It has 47k miles, however, when checking the carfax, I found something weird IMO. The vehicle was imported from Canada and at 35k miles, it had its alternator replaced, axle(s) replaced, along with some suspension. What is bizarre about it, is the carfax is “clean” and states no accident took place. Is this a red flag? I drove the vehicle and it drove great, I just think that it’s weird it got all this stuff done at such low mileage. I attached the carfax to show how much was done, if it wasn’t in an accident, what happened?

Rumors say LGR is building an Alpha 2 RWD Buick Sedan. I rendered a concept of what an American Flagship could look like.

Hi everyone,

Recent industry reports suggest that GM's Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant is preparing to build a trio of new RWD sedans on the Alpha 2 platform—and surprisingly, Buick is on the list alongside Chevy and Cadillac.

It’s been a long time since we had a proper, rear-wheel-drive flagship Buick sedan in North America. To see what that could look like today, I created a concept render of a modern, Alpha-based Buick Avenir sedan (see attached image). I went for a sleek, premium look that respects Buick's design heritage but updates it for the modern era.

While this car will likely be heavily targeted at the Chinese market where Buick sedans thrive, the fact that it might be assembled at LGR gives me hope we might see it stateside.

I’d love to hear your opinions:

  • Do you think there is still a strong market in North America for a premium RWD Buick sedan, or has the crossover completely taken over?
  • How do you feel about the design in the render? Does it capture that classic "Buick elegance" for the modern age?

2001 Lesabre Air Ride

I’ve got a 2001 Buick Lesabre with the air ride in the rear suspension. When I picked it up, the rear shock boots were torn up however when I’d go to start it, the compressor would just keep running so I figured the compressor was probably okay. Since, I have replace the rear shocks with aftermarket air shocks and now when I start the car, the compressor will come on for about 5-10 seconds and then go off however the rear suspension still visually appear to be lower than the front (I’ve also don’t new struts on the front and new springs in the rear). The rear shocks don’t appear or feel as though there’s any air in them. Not sure if there’s a large leak somewhere? But if that were the case, wouldn’t the compressor just continually run? Or could this be level ride sensor related?

1989 regal, thoughts?

Hey there!

I’ve been looking for an older clunker for a daily driver. I hadn’t planned on getting a car the same age as me, but I’ve found a 1989 regal with 99k miles. One owner, and extensive service history. It needs a steering pump, and some small issues. I’ll look at it physically, but I suspect it’s going to be in good condition based off the interaction with the owner. I’ve been looking for about 6 months and thjs car stands out to me

My personal circumstances is this, I wfm and run my own business, so I won’t be driving a crazy amount. The biggest drive I would have is 2 and half hours to though some mountains. I’m also a new driver due to past health issues and am someone who wants to avoid a car payment, and would have pretty high insurance on a new car. Long term this would probably be a quirky secondary car.

I would be buying the car for around 1400-1500 and expecting to have to invest The car is in my home town, with a lot of handy friends, backyard mechanics and a family member with a fully equipped garage. So I’m considering buying, having a lot of work done upfront, especially the cooling system. I am reasonably handy, and willing to learn.

Thoughts?

2015 Buick Verano (2.4) Tips/Tricks/Things to watch out for?

Sorry for the vagueness of the title, I've recently had two VWs break on me back to back within the last month, and having to search for a new car is killing me. Saw this 2015 Verano on carmax, single owner, no accidents, talked to a representative over the phone who said it was owned by an older man who drove it very little and took decent care of it besides smoking with the windows up.

I'm looking to see if this sounds like a good deal to you Buick enthusiasts, from what I can gather online, sounds like this particular model is sensitive with oil, needs oil changes every 5k miles, but altogether is a smooth and dependable daily driver.

Would you all concur?

Park avenue

Bought this as a 3rd car cause it was a good deal and never hurts to have a backup but I’m loving this thing and it has become my main car I find myself getting in to go anywhere.

How hard is it to maintain an 80's LeSabre?

To preface, I do not own a car yet and I'm wondering if a vintage fifth, maybe fourth generation LeSabre with 120-200k miles on it is a BAD first car (especially since I don't have a ton of experience with cars)

I've heard the LeSabre is easy/cheap to maintain, and fairly reliable, so I had three questions.

  1. Is it actually easy to maintain? I'm not completely ignorant about cars, but I also don't have a ton of experience. Could I figure it out with YouTube?
  2. How cheap is it to maintain? Part of the reason I'd like to get this car is because it's very cheap used. If I have to spend a couple thousand a year to maintain it, it isn't really worth it.
  3. Is it actually reliable, or reliable for a vintage car?

1998 Buick Century questions regarding repair

Hello all! I inherited my Mom's 1998 Buick Century. It's now got 107000 miles--when I came to live with her it had 50K miles. I use it to drive in the area and to work 4 x a week. I've put plenty into this car--it's clear my Mom didn't have too many things serviced/repaired. I just had new struts put in, and over the last 5+ years have had new tires (w/in the last year), brake pads, and more. In any case, the AC system has started to be spotty. For at least two years the dial hasn't reached full capacity; it won't turn past a certain point. I lived with that until the actual air stopped cooling. So my guy looked at it and replaced the blower, but I think it's a larger issue. It takes a long time for the cool air or hot air to come on, and then it fluctuates. So: is it worth continuing to put $ into this car? I really (really!) can't afford a car payment, I'm living paycheck to paycheck, so I'm hoping I can hold on to it for at least a few more years without sinking too much money into it. Does anyone know about how much I'll spend to repair the whole AC system? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Half hour repair turned into three days

My beautiful lady hates Michigan. I hit the gnarliest pot hole last week and ever since then my front end was wobbling. I called a mechanic because I was convinced I just needed an alignment. They were going to charge me $150 to test drive it and $160 if it needed the alignment. After I told my mom she crawled under the car and found this mf loose.

So day one I bought new sway bar links and crawled under the car. No amount of penetration oil or force could get this bolt off. I don’t even know what that top nut? Is.

Day two after work I went at it again. I had cut one of the bushings off and tried to use a dremel to cut through the bolt. I gave up after a few hours and called a mobile mechanic to see if he could come just cut the bolt off. He didn’t show up until midnight and said he couldn’t do anything because the tire wasn’t off, and he’d just come back in the morning.

Day three I woke up earlier than I usually do and waited for hours. It was getting time to when I had to leave for work so I called him and he said “oh are you ready for me to come over?”. Idk why I just assumed he would show up. I told him not to come cause I was gunna try one more time. On my way to work I bought the cheapest hack saw (you can see it in the last pic next to my tire. That things cooked). When I got out I took the tire off (should have done that in the first place but I was lazy) and started sawing. It took like two hours to get through it but it finally exploded off and I got the new part on in ten minutes.

Now I just have to do the other side…

TLDR: I ghosted two mechanics because I did it the hard way

P1467 Engine Code - 2021 Buick Envision Avenir

An engine light on my wife's car popped up a few days ago. I read the code and it was indicated as a P1467 code which is the evap purge pump. I replaced the evap purge pump yesterday and cleared the code. Took it for a small drive and engine light did not come back on. My wife told me today that her engine light is back on. Any ideas on what could be causing the code other than the pump?

2020 Buick Encore GX, 37k mi, Backup Camera Issue Stumped Techs

Good morning!

2020 Buick Encore GX with 37k miles. Weird issue with backup camera…

Got the black screen with red slashed camera icon consistent with TSB 19-NA-076 after long idle (waiting in parking lots) several times.

Took to dealership, who confirmed codes per TSB. VCU wouldn’t take update per TSB, replaced. New VCU wouldn’t take programming due to dealership IT issue with all of their service laptops, which was fixed.

Post laptop fix, still wouldn’t take update, found blown amp, replaced.

Programming attempts drained battery, also replaced.

Now amp, VCU still won’t take updates, car essentially bricked, Buick and GM IT support ran their checklists (isolate power to systems to direct updates, unplug/plug, etc.)

Now a Buick rep has been sent (will be here Tuesday). Everyone is stumped.

Any ideas here? Two GM master techs, SA, SM, and consumer stumped.

Thanks in advance!

How can I unlock my car using my key without my alarm going off?

I bought a used Buick 2013 Verano and they gave me one key fob that was kinda of on its last leg. Well after hanging on for about a year the unlock button fell off, if I shove a pen in there sometimes it'll unlock but its honestly way easier to just unlock the door with my key.

The problem is every time I use my key it plays like a more quiet short version of my car alarm until I turn on my car. Honestly its super embarrassing and it sounds like I'm stealing my own car, but also I live in an apartment complex and will sometimes leave at 2 or 3am and I have my alarm going off.

Is there anyway I can unlock my car without it going off? I really don't want to shell out the money for a new key fob when all the other buttons on it work just fine.
