GBP Name Change Rejected: Appeal or Wait for DBA?
Hi, I’m in Raleigh, NC & looking for advice before I submit a Google Business Profile appeal.
I created a new Google Business Profile 10 days ago for a pressure washing service-area business: “Raleigh Pressure Washing & Concrete Cleaning.”
I decided to go with a brand that fits my name and is more memorable: “Grasshopper Pressure Washing.”
I tried updating the GBP business name to Grasshopper Pressure Washing and adding my website, grasshopperpressurewashing.com, but the edits were rejected.
Evidence I currently have:
Website homepage clearly branded Grasshopper Pressure Washing
Same phone number on website and GBP
Raleigh service area listed
Thumbtack profile under Grasshopper Pressure Washing
Nextdoor business/profile under Grasshopper Pressure Washing
Simple flyer/quote sheet with the business name, phone, website, and Raleigh address/service area
Domain ownership screenshot
I do not have a DBA for Grasshopper Pressure Washing, but I’m considering filing one before appealing.
My question: would you appeal now with the website/flyer/Thumbtack/Nextdoor/domain proof, or wait until I have a DBA? Could it help to get some reviews mentioning Grasshopper Pressure Washing first? Is there anything else I can do to further my chances?
I’m trying to avoid making things worse since the profile is brand new and Google already rejected the name/website edit. I also don’t want to delete and recreate the profile if that could trigger problems.
Any advice from people who have dealt with GBP name changes, appeals, or service-area business verification would be appreciated.
Thanks!
