Ok, there have been a few posts about the AC on the Camry cooling things off when on Auto, but the AC indicator lamp shows off. What I found is that if I drive the car and hit the AC button, the green indicator light comes on and it works as expected. The next day I drive the car and I am getting cold AC air blowing on me but the AC indicator is off. If I hit the AC button (turn the green light on) then turn it off (the green light goes away), then it behaves as I expect - NOT using the AC to do climate control.

What I found is if I DO turn the AC off BEFORE shutting the vehicle off, then the next time I use the car the AC does not activate until I hit the button and the indicator light comes on. (Expected behavior.) If I DON'T turn the AC off before shutting down the vehicle, the AC will be working the next time I use the car - regardless of the AC button status light. (Unexpected.)

If the AC is on without the AC light on, then hitting the AC button twice (turn the indicator on/off) will shut the AC off. If I don't turn the AC off, OR if the AC is already running but the indicator is off, then the AC will be on the next time you start the car without the indictor light on. If this is happening to you, try toggling the AC button. I'm curious if it's just my car, or if this is a Camry thing.
