In a few weeks I'll be picking up a friend at ROA at about 5:30pm. He's been my BFF for 65 years. We grew up in NoVa, and both got out of there in our 30s. One thing we always enjoyed doing is going to what might be called immigrant restaurants. That is, restaurants started by folks from another country, whose clientele are also mostly from that country. In the DC area that often meant Mexico, Central and South America, Asia (anywhere from Turkey to Indonesia) and Africa.

I was hoping that Roanoke might have a few places like this that we can look into visiting while in town. Any recommendations?

An elderly neighbor recently died and the family is tossing her 27-inch (2560 x 1440) Apple Thunderbolt display. They say it's functional and it looks to be in great shape. Is it worth dropping $49 to get the adapter to be able to use it on my Mac?
