Ok I know it's a stupid question but I hope someone will hear me out with no judgement.
I've been going to the gym for 3 years and always going straight home to shower, but right now I won't be able to use my own shower until some things get professionally fixed in a few days.
So today I used the gym shower for the first time, and DEAR GOD it was enough of a puzzle to be a dungeon. After getting a towel from the front desk, I undressed in a private change room, made two makeshift "bags" of my dirty clothes and my clean change, then fought for my life trying to hold the towel over myself while hanging the clothes on the outer hook of the door, which wasn't stable so I went inside the shower stall and hung them on the inner hook, along with my towel. I showered, somehow managed to keep the clothes and towel dry. I then tried to get dressed by drying myself with the towel and putting each piece of clothing on as I went, but it proved way too difficult to balance when trying to put on my pants/underwear, so I wrapped myself with the towel (which wasn't big enough to conceal my body without holding it with my hand) and brought all my clothes to a bathroom stall and finished changing there for what felt like forever especially with the drying.
Showering at home is mindlessly simple so I don't feel like it's supposed to be such an ordeal at the gym. What am I missing? Besides maybe a waterproof bag for clothes.
EDIT: Thank you everyone! I had no idea it was acceptable to be naked in the general change room. I somehow just never noticed (I'm female btw so idk what's more common in which locker room). Still feel uncomfortable of the idea of being exposed but if I never noticed anyone naked in all my years of gymming then I doubt anyone will pay attention to me either.
