I'm 18 and want to become a musician/singer (like, bad)

I have almost finished highschool and am prepping for my country's (greece) uni entrance exams in the moment.

I often hear stories about adults living unfulfilled lives because of chasing the wrong career in their early lives and honestly I'm terrified of making such a mistake. However I am currently studying to enter the finance field and do quite well with numbers and problem solving. On the side I started taking lessons for my country's national instrument (bouzouki), and now play in an amateur band type thing lead by my tutor with some friends. I do mainly singing as a lead but I also play along with my band mates(?) -at a pretty luck luster level compared to them. Said tutor seems very intent on making us known and has connections that could lead to various potential gigs in the future (while also having a track record of coaching pretty successful musicians in the past through similar band arrangements)

Since my pre teen years I found myself enthralled in many song's melodies - especially the early queen albums - and constantly listened to Freddie Mercury isolated vocal tracks out of pure enjoyment and idolization. I even started trying to imitate those vocals because of how much I wanted to be like artists such as him.

Then as I got further into my teens I explored a lot of other music as is expected of that age. I discovered artists like Jeff Buckley, Patti Smith, listened to a ton of Fleetwood Mac , got heavily into laiko and rebetiko folk music, started appreciating the vocal style of Michael Jackson a lot more and just fantasised about making and especially singing songs like those artists.

So when I casually got acquainted with a small local band my friend rehearsed with and met a singer my age that had recently attended my country's version of the The Voice and met and worked with some big names, I found a chance to potentially show of a bit of the skill I thought I might have had. I sang my heart out on bohemian rhapsody, making sure to hit every note Freddie hit without fail. AND THEY PROCEDED TO ALL BUT START WORSHIPING ME FOR MY PERFORMANCE. Mr. The Voice attendant offered to coach me in simple guitar chords so as to match my singing - which I didn't accept because of studying and already learning folk music through bouzouki.

Tldr I proceded to start practicing vocals with another guy and a girl from the aforementioned band which led to me and said girl entering that folk music band type thing I mentioned before. She has very similar aspirations as me and a beautiful singing voice with tons of potential (she ain't into guys so the focus in our friendship fortunately remains on the matter at hand, no distractions)

So

Question

How do I manage to achieve this goal whilst most likely following a side career, and most importantly of all, SHOULD I, in your opinion?

I am aware of how naive this all must sound and I surely have not got much firsthand experience, but I guess this is why reddit subs exist.
