Hi, I’m 27 and for about 5 years I’ve been having weird flare‑ups of burning pain and skin hypersensitivity. Mostly around my knees, shins and elbows – clothes touching the skin can feel painful, like allodynia.
Blood tests and rheumatology are always normal, I have no joint stiffness and I can hike and lift weights when I’m in a “good phase”. Then out of nowhere I get a flare for weeks with burning/tingling patches but no real numbness in my feet or hands.
This started after viral infections (first COVID, later stomach flu), and sometimes it seems worse after several days of THC use. Natural anti‑inflammatory supplements (MSM, andrographis, allicin) calm it down a lot, sometimes for months.
I’m wondering if this could be post‑viral small fiber neuropathy with non‑length‑dependent burning pain/allodynia or some kind of post‑infectious nerve hypersensitivity. Has anyone had similar symptoms (burning patches on legs/arms, normal tests, young age) and what helped you?
