Some resources will do a good job clarifying the difference, but I find it difficult to get good information because so many resources will just refer to HPV generally. Like I get that the statistic about like 80% of people getting it at some point, is meant to make people feel less alone, but I never see it clarified what % of that is low risk vs. high risk. I’m not really comforted by that, especially when it’s combined with the stat about 90% of infections being cleared within 2 years. Like that’s great, but what % of people with a high risk strain clear it in 2 years?

Like if only 10% of HPV infections are high risk strains, and 10% of HPV infections aren’t cleared in 2 years, then that statistic becomes a lot less comforting for someone with a high risk strain. I would assume that most people infected get low risk strains, and that most of the infections cleared quickly are low risk strains, but I can find any actual answers on what those numbers are.

I get that most infections do not turn into cancer, but what % of high risk infections do?

Also, it says that there’s no way to know when you got it, but if you have a high risk strain, and it’s still very mild, then you probably haven’t had it long, right? Cause if you’ve had it several years, then it would have either progressed or been cleared, right? How long does the progression take?

Idk, sorry for the rant. Maybe other people will understand what I’m getting at here. If people have answers to these questions, that would be great, but I’m mostly just posting this to express my frustration with the way that information is presented.

Is my only option to wait for enough time to pass for me to report that I didn’t get the item?

I bought a steam deck and immediately afterwards the seller messaged me asking me to cancel it. Apparently he wanted the purchase to be made by sending him money directly via Venmo. Something about his account being negative was his stated reason. Obviously I wasn’t going to do that. I had actually already started a cancellation request before he messaged me, because immediately after purchasing I realized that I had my old shipping address. I intended on repurchasing but obviously wasn’t going to after that.

Then he insisted that he wasn’t able to cancel because his account was negative, and that all he could do was send me a partial refund and then I could ask eBay to give me the rest. Again, absolutely not. He sent a screenshot where it said that he couldn’t issue a refund because a cancellation request was pending, as a way to prove to me that I needed to rescind my cancellation request. I told him no, and that he needed to accept my cancellation request. He kept pretending like eBay wouldn’t let him because of his account being negative. Then I got a notification from eBay that the seller denied my cancellation request.

I reported the messages, and reported the user, but I can’t find anyway to contact eBay about this. All of the options basically end up saying that I have to wait until it’s past the expected arrival date and then I can report that it hasn’t arrived yet. The guy said he isn’t sending it, is there really not a way for me to contact eBay and have them cancel it?

He also re-posted the same steam deck right after this conversation.
