Grey dead tooth, no insurance. How bad is it?
(Grey tooth is directly next to right front tooth, and the one with small hole at bottom is behind/above that. I have a gap between the two as a baby tooth never fell out or didn’t in time. I don’t remember)
Hi! Definitely insanely embarrassing to be posting this, but I 18f has severe dental issues. I experienced bulimia, drug use, I have intense acid reflux and poor hygiene that I am still fixing and dealing with. My mother is, in better choice of words, neglectful in the medical region and has been since I was in late elementary school. I have asked numerous times to make me an appointment but to no avail. I turned 18 2 months ago and was hopeful to make my own but 2 things, my insurance is cut off somehow, and my mother is not trying her hardest to fix it. And also, I am simply really embarrassed and scared.
I experience heavy sharp pain when creating suction in my mouth, or when I bite down on something and it goes in the crevice. It then throbs for a while and I can’t eat. A peice of the tooth cracked off about a year or 2 ago. How likely is it that the tooth can be saved? In the case that they do have to remove it, will insurance cover replacements? I’m already insecure and don’t want to deal with another factor. And finally, the costs. I’m terrified of this breaking the bank especially with its probably gonna be on my dime.
TLDR; Bad hygiene. Bad teeth. How bad is it? What are the likely steps and how expensive are the costs likely to be?
