Looking to get some information on what are some solutions for an automatic door for a retail space in an old building. It is a wood frame and wood and glass door with a Dorma ED800 for ADA accessibility. We settled on swiftlane as the electronic / video access part. We need the lock on a timer to open at a certain time, and then lock it remotely in the evening, and it needs to securely close behind itself once a customer or delivery driver enters. We are open to changing out the door as long as that does not trigger a planning review. Would a metal door be easier or less costly to work with? The wood is quite heavy. Trying to get some basic knowledge before calling professionals to take a look at it. Thanks!
