What Republican Establishment? | Power Line

So many discussions on Reddit, at least in my feeds, focus on the morality and ethics of Repulicans/MAGA and Trump in particular. Nevermind the billionaire class etc. I would like to hear this group's take on the argument in the link that the "establishment" is on whole, with some noted exceptions, left-leaning because of economic self interest. Thoughts?

Landscaping on top of a septic tank

So my 27 YO septic tank sits high- only a couple inches of dirt cover it and in the early years grass wouldn't grow on it (dried out and died). For years I've simply mounded top soil on it and grew flowering tubers

I want to add some nice edging around it and was thinking of building a 3 course brick planter around the edge of the tank (sitting on top of the tank walls). Weep holes on the bottom course for drainage.

Good idea or no?

Not loving 30 YO CPVC

Demoing the master bath. Barely touched the 3/4 line and it snapped at the fitting. Water was running through the ceiling below in the kitchen. Had to run down 3 floors to shut the main. The good news is my wife got a first hand lesson on how to shut it all off.

Temporarily retored to as found configuration but I'm gonna circle back and run Pex under the floor to get around that stack (unlike the original plumber...not throwing shade, just saying).

Edit: Lesson learned. ALWAYS turn off the water when working anywhere near CPVC.

Federal Minimum wage rules

Does this make any sense? It's from the latest labor law poster. Seems illogical.

Federal Contractor Minimum Wage

The Federal Contractor Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect an increase to the minimum wage for certain federal contractors. Effective May 11, 2026, federal contractors with contracts that were entered into on or between January 1, 2015, and January 29, 2022, that were not renewed or extended on or after January 30, 2022, must pay employees $13.65 per hour. Revision Date: 05/2026.
