handwritten notes app for sale in a $15M/month category

Hi all,

I'm exploring selling an iOS app I built called Matcha, an AI-powered note-taking app that was live on the App Store with real users and real revenue.

This isn't a prototype or idea. The product is fully built, shipped, and was generating revenue before I pulled it down. Matcha is a handwriting-native notes app with multi-model AI orchestration, designed for people who think with a stylus and want AI that actually understands their ink instead of treating it as second-class input.

Features include handwriting-first capture with full ink fidelity, multi-model AI routing (different tasks go to different models for cost and quality optimization), AI summarization and Q&A across your notes, cross-note search and synthesis, and a clean iOS-native UI built around the Apple Pencil.

The Numbers

Matcha hit $170 MRR in its best month with zero marketing spend, just organic App Store discovery. Small, but real and recurring from a single iOS surface.

For context on the category: Goodnotes pulled an estimated 1M downloads and $6M in revenue last month alone, and Notability did roughly 400k downloads and $3M in revenue in the same window. That's the ceiling for a well-distributed iPad-first notes app. Even taking 0.1% of that monthly run-rate is multiples of where Matcha is today.

It's currently delisted because the Apple Developer Program fee plus the 15-30% App Store cut weren't worth it at this scale while I was focused elsewhere. The app, codebase, branding, and App Store Connect assets are all intact and ready to relist.

Why I'm Exploring Selling

The product side is done. What it needs now is an operator focused on App Store distribution, ASO, and consumer growth, which is a different muscle than what I'm building right now. DM me.
