Hey everyone,

I’m a McMaster Life Sciences student and need some advice about OSAP.

Both of my parents left the country after financial losses, and I’m basically on my own financially. My brother helped me through first year, but I need to pay for summer school myself. I’ve been applying for jobs but haven’t had any luck.

I was told I might qualify for the OSAP Family Breakdown/Abandoned Parent form. Does anyone know which counselor or office at McMaster I should contact for this?

Also, are there any extra grants, bursaries, emergency funding, or other assistance programs I should look into? OSAP doesn’t seem like it’ll be enough.

If anyone has been through something similar, I’d really appreciate any tips on navigating OSAP, finding financial assistance, or getting through this situation.
