AITA because I don’t want to work with my husband on my days off?
I work in vet med as a receptionist and work 4, 10hr shifts. My husband has his own lawn care business which is basically just him, and his niece when she’s not in school. I have Monday off and weekends, sometimes he schedules jobs on weekends as well. We’ve been in many fights because he wants me to come help mow lawns and do projects for clients on days off, and if I do, I’m not excited about it. We’ve discussed many times how I don’t think it’s fair. I do pay all our bills with just my pay checks, and he helps with everything else when I’m out of money due to bills and debt. Years ago, I had to work 3 jobs at a time while he was out of work, for almost two years. Now I really enjoy my free time, and having a break from the stresses at work and social exhaustion. I mostly clean the house, and I enjoy having time at home to do all the cleaning while he’s gone. Last job I went with because he said I just needed to make sure he didn’t fall off a ladder. When we got there, I found out it was a 3-4 hr painting job, so I was a bit upset. We got into a fight and I ended up walking home from the job, took about 50 minutes so not crazy bad. He actually insisted I make this post as well, he hears me listen to these all the time on TikTok. He’s understood before why I don’t believe it’s fair when I already work 40 hrs, when he works he’s off way before me. I get his job is so much for physical than mine, and it is a hard job. Idk, aita?
