6G2 Brownface Princeton as First DIY Guitar Amp Build? Or Go More Simple w/ 5F2 Tweed Princeton?

I'm kicking around the idea of building a DIY guitar amp and I'm trying to decide between a 6G2 and a 5F2. I'm more interested in having something that produces the sound of a 6G2, but I also don't want to get in over my head. I know the 6G2 is still relatively simple, but I kinda don't know what I don't know, so I'm looking for your input. Some info:

My soldering skills are passable. It's mostly been cable assembly rather than components, but I can get by. I at least know what good soldering and wiring should look like.

I know next to nothing about how electronics work. I can read a schematic and identify parts and how they're connected, but am clueless as to why 95% of it's there or what it's actually doing.

I'm only interested in building an amp head, not a combo.

I have zero interest in replicating the original aesthetics of either of these amps. I would build this inside of an old radio or other shell of more-than-ample size. If I can salvage components, great, but I'm not banking on that and am not looking to hot rod an existing circuit.

I'd most likely source the parts myself from a list rather than buying a pre-made kit. Partly to (hopefully) save money. Partly because I haven't found a 6G2 kit (there are 6G3 kits).

Thoughts? Am I making too much out of this?

What Is This Tele Tailpiece?

Saw a band last night one of the guitar players had a Tele with a tailpiece I’d never seen before and couldn’t find on the googles. I didn’t get a chance to ask him what it was, so I turn to you all.

What is it and is it stock or aftermarket? It kind of looks like a T-bender or a detuner, but for every string instead of just one or two.

I've got a pile of surplus equipment that I'm trying to dispose of and among the lot are a couple of Yealink CP965 conference room phones. I usually just do a factory reset before I send things off for resale/disposal, but I'm seeing these described on ebay as "unlocked" and I'm trying to figure out exactly what that means in this context. I am completely unfamiliar with these units and the manual isn't helping. Does "unlocked" just mean "able to be logged into" (in which case a factory reset does the trick) or is this like cell phones where the hardware can be locked to a specific owner account or service provider? (in which case, they're just trash)

Thanks in advance.

(For Rule #8, I am not trying to sell these to anybody here)

A guy nearby took the chassis and transformers from an old Muzak-style radio receiver and replaced the rest of the guts with a 5F2A circuit with switchable 4 & 8 ohm outputs. Now he's looking to sell it for $275.

I haven't heard it yet, but the photos of the inside show the assembly work to be passable. Not amazing, but this won't be leaving the house, so it doesn't need to be especially robust.

I normally play through an AC15 head into a 2x12 loaded with a Greenback and a V30. I like the Vox, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something a bit more honky.

Anybody wanna talk me into or out of this? $275 seems like short-ish money if it's functional and roughly what it would cost to get an unassembled kit on ebay.
