Hi there, I'm reaching out because I'm concerned about this. Last night I tried to check a laptop that, as the title says, gets stuck in a loop on the boot screen. It stays like that for minutes; sometimes it restarts on its own and goes to the advanced options boot screen, but that doesn’t load either. In fact, when I force it into that option, after a while it throws the (device_pnp_watchdog) error, restarts, and goes back to the cycle.

I tried accessing the command prompt using a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation, and I ran the standard “scannow” commands. I think it reported that there were corrupted files, but I used the available commands to “repair” them—in theory (it didn’t work)—and it kept looping. I tried the other available options: uninstalling recent updates and repairing startup. I should mention that this laptop isn’t mine, so I don’t have a backup of how to use it.

The laptop is an HP, and I read somewhere on Microsoft support that certain HP models suffer from a similar issue with the touchpad, which I found curious.

But anyway, I want to see if I’ve overlooked anything so I can avoid having to format it. Besides, I seem to recall a couple of users who also couldn’t format theirs xd

Hola buenas, venia por la inquietud que tengo sobre esto. Ayer por la noche intenté chequear un portatil que como dice el titulo se queda loopeada en la pantalla de carga, esta así durante minutos, a veces se reinicia sola y entra en la pantalla de carga de opciones avanzadas pero esa tampoco carga, de hecho cuando entra forzosamente en esa opcion al rato tira el error de (dervice_pnp_watchdog) y se reinicia y vuelve al ciclo.

Traté de acceder al cmd con un usb de arranque con la instalacion de windows y bueno utilizé los comandos clasicos de scannow y creo recordar que si tiró que habian archivos dañados pero utilizé los comandos a la mano para "repararlos" en teoria (no funcionó) sigué loopeado. Traté de usar las otras opciones a la mano: desinstalar actualizacion reciente, reparar inicio. Ya les digo yo que este portatil no es mio asi que no tiene un backup como pasa usarlo.

El portatil es un HP y leí por ahí en un soporte de microsoft que hay ciertos modelos de HP que sufren de un error por el estilo por el touchpad, cosa que se me hizo curiosa.

Pero bueno, quiero ver si me he dejado algo de lado para no llegar al formateo, aparte crel recordar de un par de usuarios que tampoco los deja formatear xd
