Gazebo on 1-1.25% grade?
Installing gazebo on pavers (actually through pavers) with a concrete base underneath. Plan is to use 5-6 inch tapcons, which should make it well past the pavers and into the concrete below. I understand the pavers may crack in the process.
The whole surface is graded at about 1.25%. Gazebo is 10x10ft - that’s about an inch to inch and a half drop across the whole base.
Is this actually going to be enough of an issue that I need to shim it? the supports are metal so I can’t just cut an inch off the taller end and I don’t really want to take the pavers off. We do get snow in the area so there’s a chance this sucker takes a fair bit of snow on before I can clear it the next day during the winter.
I could put something under the lower end to make it level, but then I’m drilling through even more crap before I actually hit the concrete under the pavers. Wondering if I’m overthinking the whole thing and if I can just bolt the sucker in on that slope or if the angle is going to cause problems if left unaddressed.
Anyone with experience know what to do here?
