Instagram suspended my account because of another person’s account — appeal button disappeared
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might have advice because I’m really confused about my Instagram suspension situation.
My Instagram account was recently suspended, and the message says it was linked to another account that violated Instagram’s rules. The problem is that the other account actually belonged to a friend, not me, and I genuinely didn’t know what they were doing on it.
I did initially click the appeal/review option, but the app closed before I could fully finish it, and now the appeal button has completely disappeared. Every help page just redirects me back to Instagram, but there’s no longer any way for me to submit a review.
I also downloaded my Instagram data, and a lot of information seems to be missing, including my followers/following list, which has made me worry that my account is stuck in some kind of broken suspension state.
The suspension notice still says I have 180 days left to appeal, so I’m hoping the account isn’t permanently deleted yet.
Has anyone experienced something similar where:
- the appeal button disappeared,
- Instagram linked you to another person’s account,
- or your followers temporarily disappeared from your data export?
If anyone has found a working way to contact Instagram or recover the appeal flow, I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
