Just planted today, looking for feedback!
I received my plants in the mail today from Daku Aquatics. Feedback and advice are absolutely welcome! Forgive the slightly cloudy water from disturbing the substrate.
Specs:
20 long, Fluval aquaclear 50 hob (planning on adding baffle soon) that was recently seeded with media from established tank (happy to post water params as well), Fluval 100 watt heater set to 75F, chihiros B60 set to two four-hour photoperiods a day at 50% intensity with a 3 hour break in between.
Substrate is a 1.5ish inch layer of aquasoil capped with 1.5-2.5 inches of sand.
I’ve got some assorted buce, anubias, and java fern inserted in spaces in the hardscape, a mat of Java moss resting on top of a spiderwood “stump” near the surface, a couple sets of rotala rotundifolia rooted down into the aquasoil accompanied by root tabs, and an Amazon sword rooted similarly also with a root tab. For the rotala I grouped about 10 stems together when planting. Should I separate those clusters further?
Any feedback regarding placement of epiphytes and rooting of stem plants is very much welcome. I’ve never planted so heavily in a tank before.
