Hello, I’m currently going through a heart breaking custody case and am riddled with anxiety. We had our first hearing and it was a total of ten minutes long. The next isn’t until June 1st and my ex has been bullying me and even demanded visitation with our son for all of Mother’s Day. He didn’t check on him for a week. Last few times he saw him he ended the visit early or only spent two hours with him. I’ve been trying to ask for the child attorney to step in through my lawyer but have not heard anything from them.

Can anyone in NYS tell me what the role of the child attorney is and what the process is like?
