Autoimmune disease and AMH research
I am a 28-year-old female who just got diagnosed with lupus five months ago because of a huge flare (pericarditis). I have been on plaquenil/hydroxychloriquine for five months now and I’ve been doing OK but I still have chest pain from my pericarditis. I recently went to OBGYN and got my fertility work and my AMH (ovarian reserve) went from 3.96 in August to 2.4 in May. (Less than 8 months). They can’t figure out what caused this huge drop. They think it might be the lupus. Has anyone ever had any issues with fertility because of their lupus can auto immune diseases affect your ovarian reserve? Especially so quickly? My cardiologist wants to start me on a medication called Arcalyst, which you can’t get pregnant on, so now I’m scared I’m gonna lose all my eggs or majority of them bc treatment with it has to be a year or more and if it dropped that quick in 8 months, what will another a year do?
