Filed a charge dispute due to merchant failed to put the full address for DPD, and DPD refused to deliver without merchant contact.

After multiple attempts, merchant cannot be reached via all channels (others commented the same on Trustpilot).

Dispute is live and still in progression. However unlike other disputes, the charge credit has not been re-applied to statement while investigation is taking place.

Amex agents advised the dispute team can either 1) re-apply credit, which is I expect, or 2) suspend the charge 'internally' but the customer will not see it on the statement.

How would suspend a charge internally / not visible to customer make sense?

Monthly statement still has the dispute charge, but agents said the single transaction can be subtracted, so I can pay a lesser amount than the statement balance with no interest occurred.

Sounds bizarre.

Anyone experienced the same, or other insights?
