do i have to salute officers at my rank if I am near them in uniform (assuming they are too), and can I do a walking salute to them?

salutations, soooo I possess the silver star on my uniform which now makes me apart of the gold star program because I have completed the silver star training. will I be teaching level 1/2 cadets? also does rank have an influence on whether I'll be instructing those classes or nah
