Hello, I have been experiencing recurring PayPal “token” payment issues for over a year now and I am honestly getting desperate.
I run a WooCommerce shop using the PayPal WooCommerce plugin.Customers are frequently unable to complete payments because the error message “Token could not be created” appears.
To temporarily fix it, I usually:
• deactivate and reactivate the PayPal plugin
• disconnect and reconnect the PayPal plugin
• delete the current API credentials
• clear transients
• generate a new API Client Key in live mode
However, I often still have problems reconnecting the plugin to PayPal, as it rarely works on the first attempt.
Just recently, I created a new API Client Key again, but the connection still fails.I now get errors like:
“Operation timed out after 30005 milliseconds with 0 bytes received…”and“Token could not be created”
I do not use a cache plugin anymore (I used to, but I removed it).My theme is OceanWP.
I am hosted at STRATO, and they told me they cannot do anything about it and that it is a PayPal plugin issue.
In addition to PayPal, I also offer other payment methods independently, such as credit card payments and bank transfer.
All plugins are up to date.
