CachyOS VRAM usage and GPU temperatures.

I love CachyOS a lot. My PC specs are:

i7-4770k
GTX 1660 Super
16 GB RAM DDR3
SATA SSDs

I only play games and on this machinee, mostly Deadlock but some other multiplayer pvp shooters too like CS2. I've noticed that my VRAM usage is higher than on Windows and my GPU temps are also higher. I know the translation layers can take up more VRAM, but in newer games it's bottlenecking my GPU (I compared to Windows 10 IoT LTSC). Does anyone have similar GPU and can give me some tips on how to better optimise it on CachyOS? Any advice will be appreciated.

I'm also interested if other people have similar specs on CachyOS and what is their experience with it in games.

Thank you!

RX 480 OC 8GB or GTX 1660 Super 6GB

Hi, guys!

I've recently switched to CachyOS and I'm having a blast! That being said I'm looking for the best performance for gaming on my PC.

My config is 4790k cpu and GTX 1660 Super gpu.

I have tested both Wayland and X11 and I found that X11 works the best for this older GPU. At the moment I have good performance, but I want to squeeze out more if possible. I have moved from KDE Plasma to XFCE4 DE as I also found that XFCE4 is the one that gives the most performance for my PC. KDE Plasma is also very very good, but I like more XFCE4 because it's more close to my work MacOS.

I also have an Radeon Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ OC 8GB.
I was wondering if maybe I could get even better performance for dx11 and vulkan games with the RX 480 because I know for a fact that the performance is even better with AMD cards.
What do you guys think I should do?

I also have the option to put them both in the PC, but I don't think that will help me with much rather than increasing PC thermals and, obviously, my electricity bill.

Also, any other tips or recommendations are very welcome! I'm not looking to make any financial investments so, please, don't recommend me new PC😂

Thank you!
