Hi everyone,

I may be moving to Palmerston North for a PhD at Massey University, and it would be my first time living abroad. I’m excited, but also a little nervous, especially because I’m a fairly introverted person.

I’d really appreciate any advice from current/former students, especially PhD students or international students.

I’m mainly curious about:

• What is PhD student life like at Massey?
• What should I know about housing and transport in Palmerston North?
• As an introverted newcomer, are there any common mistakes I should avoid when settling in?
