I got a yellow Coolant overheat symbol while idling. I was actively reading temps from bimmerlink. And found that it went to 112 C. Too much for idle. I don’t hear the fans roar. They were only on about 30% of what they are capable of. So I shut it off and did some tests. I did the bleed test and logged the pump data and everything looked normal. I scanned for codes and found something related to the oil level sensor. But nothing for coolant. Of course the coolant level is topped up, and hasn’t changed during any of the bleeds that I have done so I can rule out air pockets. The know that the dme is not commanding the fan enough on idle but why?? It was staying at 7% pwr which is the baseline and the baseline doesn’t even spin it. I found out that as soon as I turn on the heating , it got my coolant right from 111 C quickly to 95 than 100 -105 which is what it should be at . And then fans running what they are supposed to be while it’s idling. And during the ac being turned on the heat is set to max which pumps the water pump speed from 44 while idling to 170 . Again no codes expect for. 2E83 , but that was a week ago and it never overheated or came back on.
