Spinal fusion long term complications

Hi all, I'm a bit curious.

I keep hearing that those who have undergone surgery might be facing with long term complications such as the metals loosening, breaking etc that requires correction surgery.

Has anyone ever experienced this, and if this is common?

Proper exercise tips?

Hello, I'm a female who has gone through a spinal fusion surgery around almost 20 years ago. I don't remember exactly the position of the fusion but it is just right below my neck all the way down to my bum due to scoliosis.

I have always been warned to not lift heavy objects as it might tamper with the screws, and have always been unsure as to what kind of exercises I can do. I start to do walking on a treadmill and some simple yoga movements that doesn't require bending because I can't bend at all either to the side or the front (when I bend I can only do 90 degrees, straight, no curling).

However, I'm looking to see what I can actually do aside from walking and yoga. The reason is because I don't want to live a sedentary life forever and need to change, but my stamina is really bad (I can only walk for 20-30 mind on the treadmill with an incline before I start to feel dizzy). But I'm also unsure because of my condition.

Thank you so much. ☺️
