Some in laws haven’t met baby
So my husbands side has a lot of children and grand children. He’s one of four.
We just had our third baby, they have been extremely uninvolved with all of our children, I suspect because they do not like me.
For a totally separate reason we have gone no contact with his mother recently and it’s been over a month with no olive branches or anything. Something I spent years trying to avoid, but it just finally reached a point.
So the newest addition is almost four months old.
DH tried to schedule for his grandma to meet the baby and she keeps “rescheduling”. We invited her to our older children’s birthday a couple months ago and she said she doesn’t do birthday parties anymore because there’s too many great grandchildren and if she did one she’d have to do them all.
We just heard his sister was in town, didn’t call him at all, and even visited a different sibling
Part of me feels like everyone’s adults and obviously they just don’t want to, and that’s okay
But another part feels really sad for my husband who has not been able to share these moments with anyone.
Kind of wondering how this would make others feel. Because the mama bear in me is kind of thinking we should move on from these members as well
