How can I cancel the previous API request when a new request is made in React? I’m using useEffect with fetch, and I want to prevent old requests from updating the state after the query changes.

same as above

How do I get actually good at web design? My websites always look amateur

I’ve been learning web development and I can build websites that work, but whenever I look at websites made by experienced developers/designers, mine just look… amateur

Does having fewer CS graduates actually make it easier to get a software job?

I was talking with my dad recently. I’m currently in 12th in India, and he was saying that countries with much smaller populations probably have fewer graduates competing for jobs compared to India.

That got me curious, so I started looking into it.

And the numbers are kinda crazy. For example, Germany had around 39,000 people graduate from Informatik (CS) in 2024, while India produces hundreds of thousands of computing graduates every year.

So it made me wonder

Does having way fewer CS/software graduates actually mean there is less competition for software jobs in smaller European countries?

Or does it basically balance out because those countries also have fewer software jobs?

I'm not saying "Europe = easy jobs" or anything. I'm just trying to understand how the supply and demand for software developers compares between India and countries with much smaller populations.

I'm currently in 12th and planning to go into CSE, so I'm curious about what the situation might look like by the time I graduate.

Would especially like to hear from people actually working in Europe or who have experienced both job markets.

"use strict";

const company = {
  name: "TechCorp",
  address: {
    city: "budapest",
    pin: 411001,
  },
};
// Get city renamed to `location` and pin renamed to `pincode`

const { city: location, pin: pincode } = company.address;
console.log(location, pincode);

Need advice: mainly concerned about peer group & study culture

taking a drop and now deciding between VIT (Chennai/Vellore) and Bennett University for CSE.

At VIT, I’m looking at Category 3/4/5, depending on the campus and availability. Bennett is also an option for me.

I’m a genuine student and I’m serious about studying and building a career, but I wouldn’t call myself exceptionally brilliant academically. I’m willing to put in the work, and I want to be surrounded by people who are also motivated to learn, build projects, code, participate in hackathons, internships, etc.

My biggest concern isn't just placements.

My dad’s view is that placements should be secondary , the environment and the people around me matter more.

So I’d really like honest opinions from current students/alumni:

  • How is the study culture at Bennett?
  • What is the peer group actually like? Are there plenty of genuinely hardworking students, or is it mostly people just trying to get through college?
  • How competitive/toxic/chill is the environment?
  • How easy is it to find a good circle of people who are serious about coding, projects, startups, hackathons, etc.?
  • How much does the campus environment help or hurt your growth?

not looking for a “X college is better bro” answer. 😅
