My mother sensed something was off. Turns out she was right

This story is probably much more tame that the things you guys are used to, but felt lile a lot to me.

A few years ago, my parents moved house. Not a big deal, they just though that my childhood house was too big for them after me and my siblins had left, so they wanted to find a cheaper place with less stairs before they got older.

Anyway I accompanied my mom to see a few flats on sale and we found one that looked like an ideal pick. Accesible, closer to where I currently live, a reasonable price... I wouldn't say it was a bargain (there was nothing to be suspicious), juat a good deal.

But my mother said "this place gives me bad vibes" and asked me to find somewhere else.

That sounded out of character for her. She is not at the esoteric side: she likes to hear horror stories sometimes, has a moderate sense of spirituallity (goes to church every week) but she is not the type of person who constantly make decisions based on "vibes" and "good or bad feelings". But she was adamant this time: she had felt bad vibes and didn't want to live there.

We I got home, my curiosity took over and I decided to look on the internet to see if something had ever happened in that building.

Two suicides. One in the 80s, another one in the 2000s. Both in the same flat.

I'm NOT counting strategies around delaying the Mega to intentionally activate it's mega-ability later, just the ones that try to use the pre-ability

- Very useful: the Megaevolved Pokémon gets a great benefit from the ability it had before megaevolving. This includes Pokémon that can easily use it to buff themselves (Speed boost, Moxie), avoid Intimidate (hyper cutter, inner focus) or useful abilities in general (weather, prankster, intimidate...)

- Powerful if played around: can be used to buff the Pokémon's power greatly, but requires to get the chance of being hit by a certain move (flash fire, weak armor, etc.) or defeat a weakened Pokémom before megaevolving (Moxie)

- Quite useful: gives the Pokémon some sort of inmunity to delay the Mega or get a "safe" entry point. Also Mega-Dragonite, which has inner focus but isn't a physical attacker

- Great mixup: doesn't actually benefit the Pokémon once it has megaevolved, but the player can chose to not megaevolve and make use of the pre-mega ability (to get more speed or power usually)

- Okey mixup: the same as above but less useful in my opinion

- Situational: might be useful, as a mixup or safe entry point for the Mega, but on extremely niche situations

- Nearly useless: not worth even if it's a good ability
