Stop repainting SPBs and build the [8L35 Tuna]
Dear Seiko Product Planning Team,
There is a clear and commercially obvious gap in the Prospex lineup:
A mid-size professional Tuna with the following specification:
- 300 m professional diver rating
- 8L35 automatic movement
- sapphire crystal
- classic Tuna dial: syringe hands, round indices, triangle at 12
- date at 3 o’clock
- no cyclops
- case diameter under 50 mm
- thickness around 13–14 mm
- proper on-the-fly tool-less micro-adjust clasp
- brushed tool-watch finishing
- black dial / black bezel core reference
This watch would sit perfectly between the accessible Baby Tuna models and the oversized 1000 m Emperor Tuna, while avoiding direct overlap with the Marinemaster 300 line. It would serve enthusiasts who want the Tuna design language in a serious mechanical execution without the impractical size of the 1000 m models.
In short: the market does not need another colorway. It needs the missing Tuna.
Please consider this an overdue correction to the Prospex lineup.
Respectfully,
🐟
