FAE

What way is everyone studying? All question practice? I started there yesterday and I actually haven’t a notion what I’m even looking for when I’m doing the questions, I don’t know how I’ll actually complete an exam paper

Mor -ACOTAR

Mor

Just a few things on Mor, absolutely feel free to rip me apart but:

  1. I feel like everyone believes that Eris didn’t hurt Mor in some way, shape or form just because he said one time “they don’t know the full story” and that alone suddenly makes Mor a complete liar.

I do think maybe Eris did leave her in the forest bc he knew she would be found and rescued from life in the autumn court and he isn’t a complete villain but I don’t think for a minute Mor made any of what happened up. What annoys me is Mor is wrote off as a liar when we’ve little evidence to assume so.

  1. To be fair to SJM, Mor’s character is very realistic. Mor is closeted for hundreds of years, is terrified of certain people finding out and has a certain amount of hate for that part of herself for using Azriel. What she’s doing to Azriel isn’t fair of course, but that’s exactly how someone in her position would act? Having the illusion of being with men or a man interested in you throws people off? I think leading him on is a bit fucked but it’s realistic to what Mor is: someone that’s scared and is using men as a shield as she is afraid of letting her cover drop.

It’s not fair but it’s better than SJM making her character come out and be 100% A okay with herself being gay considering where she was raised.

  1. To follow on from this point: of course she’s a bit of a dick to Nesta? Don’t get me wrong, Nesta is by far my favourite character but why is anyone surprised Mor is a bit hostile with her? Nesta threatens the system Mor uses to closet herself because she’ll remove Cassian from his role.

Obviously it’s not fair for Mor to act this way but it’s realistic? Mor is absolutely terrified of that part of herself being public/exposed, of course she’s not acting rationally. Again, I would have been more annoyed with SJM if Mor was suddenly comfortable with herself being gay after apparently spending 500 years leading two men on to hide that part of herself.

  1. I really hope Mor isn’t the traitor in the next book. Her character isn’t a bad person, (she’s friendly with the priestesses who faced experience’s similar to hers and seen to fight to protect the people she loves). I’d love to see her get a Chaol- esque TOD storyline to understand her more (just not as whiney as his character) and maybe end up with emerie?

This is such a nothing argument but every time I reread the books this just stands out to me, I’d like to know other people’s thoughts.
