Ouroboros/Jormungandr/TOTG Theory [maasverse spoilers]

Alright guys. Another theory post for you! I’m in the mood and finally have time again.

MAASVERSE SPOILERS. GO NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED ALL THREE SERIES.

This isn’t meant to be a total shipping post for Bryce and Azriel. However, due to its nature, I will bring it up. The theory can work even if they don’t end up being fated mates.

Kindness costs nothing. Remember what you were taught as a kid: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. I do NOT mind debates and discussions, but if you come on here just to be rude, I will report you to the mods. These are fictional characters.

Don't mind the silly graphics, I was having fun using a new software and just working on some design parameters.

Let’s talk about Ouroboros.

>“The Ouroboros, she called it. It was old even when we were young. A window to the world. All could be seen, all could be told through its dark surface. Keir possesses it—an heirloom of his household.”

>“The Ouroboros. The Mirror of Beginnings and Endings.”

https://preview.redd.it/t5fer8k7yb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1515f58ba9026d2009cfcbbe59ec9926cb0e8ac

Ouroboros AKA The beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega

We know that Feyre masters the mirror to get the Bone Carver to help her fight during the war with Hybern. We last hear of the mirror with the Bone Carver looking at it before leaving with Feyre. The mirror, covered in snow and ice.

Keir’s family originally owned the mirror “for millenia”. They were the original descendants of the Night Court before the land chose Rhysand’s father, and then Rhysand after him.

>“I was his and he was mine, and we were the beginning and middle and end” – Feyre, talking of the mating bond with Rhysand.

Bryce calls the sword and knife answering each other “alpha and omega” when Truth-teller flares with a dark light in the Townhouse.

The symbol Bryce wears on her neck, the Archesian Amulet, is the SAME set of three circles that the Bone Carver draws. Each circle represents Koschei, Stryga (the Weaver), and the Bone Carver respectively. The amulet came from Parthos…which is described as dust drifting across a plain.

https://preview.redd.it/gncsg5r9yb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=bac12eaab38660b90df81def4c88e75a59263fda

>“Where we come from…I do not believe it is now anything more than dust drifting across a plain” – Bone Carver

By this, we see Bryce is connected to the storyline for the Bone Carver, Stryga, and Koschei. With both the Bone Carver and Stryga dead, that only leaves Koschei. We know that Koschei is gearing up to try to take control of Prythian, doing everything in his power to free himself from the ancient spell holding him to the lake, including controlling people who move freely around Prythian.

In ACOSF, Koschei indicates he has “spies” in the Night Court. He also indicates he has been preparing for Azriel for months. Why?

>“Clever, that Fae warrior. Her bloodline is long gone now—though a trace still runs through some human line…No one remembers her name, but I do. She would have been my salvation, had I not made my choice long before she walked this earth.”

https://preview.redd.it/yclryc3cyb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=098154b25d03776b9d30fef9538da042a578fe7b

One could easily infer that the Bone Carver is talking of Theia. Silene has her descendants through Mor and Rhysand, so it couldn’t be her. The BC, Stryga, and Koschei were said to be imprisoned long before Silene would have filled the Dusk Court with creatures.

To be fair, it could easily be Helena, though it was said that Helena and Silene left when they were teenagers to Midgard with Theia. Theia was said to have ruled with Fionn for hundreds of years and likely would have had the time to imprison old gods. Who has human ancestry, carries the light of Theia, and is now wearing a symbol for the 3 siblings along with the whole Parthos library in her possession? Bryce.

A friend and I have discussed the possibility of the Bone Carver…being Aidas. The fae warrior, Theia. “She would have been my salvation” can be a romantic phrase and he is obviously fond of her.

The Ouroboros is present in Norse mythology in the form of Jörmungandr, the World Serpent (or worm in some stories). An Ouroboros is representative of the cycle of life, death, and birth. The skin is sloughs, representing the transmigration of souls (reincarnation after death). The serpent biting its tail is considered a fertility symbol as well (tail: phallus, mouth: womb).

Often depicted as a serpent or dragon. In TOG, the world serpent that the witches worship, is named Abraxos. of which Manon names her wyvern after. Manon’s ancestor, Rhiannon, was said to have a female child that was taken and hidden during the first witch wars.

Manon, whose golden eyes and connection with red. Manon, who wears the physical star crown of the Crochans…Of which Bryce is seen multiple times having on her head (just the stars, as a crown, not the physical crown). Could Bryce be descended from that missing Crochan? She has the "Horn", which Rhiannon was said to have,

So let’s finally connect Bryce and Azriel, in regards to both the prophecy and the potential mythology. Bryce and Azriel have never met each other. So being “reunited” doesn’t apply to HOFAS. However…

>“When sword and dagger are reunited, so shall our people be.”

Perhaps the prophecy just meant the Starsword and Truth Teller being reunited. They were. However, no people were truly reunited (specifically the fae). The prophecy came from Helena, who was originally from Prythian. It is not a stretch to believe she means the fae in Midgard reuniting with the fae in Prythian.

>“They can open a portal to nowhere—is that it?...Yes, and together, they can unleash ultimate destruction.”

>Thanatos gave a disdainful snort [about the sword and dagger creating ultimate destruction], but Apollion looked at Aidas with something like compassion. “What blinds an Oracle? Theia’s star….I told you, the Oracle did not see that day…but I did.” -Aidas

So we know that whatever Bryce’s future may look like, Aidas had access to seeing it. He knew whatever happens, that potentially Bryce herself doesn’t know. Did he see the “ultimate destruction” of him and his brothers, perhaps? Why have they created a "Temu Azriel" with Hunt? Are they trying to keep Bryce away from Azriel, from her fated Prythian mate?

https://preview.redd.it/za12gjpeyb9d1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b5eb6cfd79208b65c6e9396db6565c6bfcb4a7a

Azriel's scent: Night chilled mist and cedar

Hunt's scent: Rain and cedar

Both assassins, similar appearances. A shadow that is called "The Angel of Death" in Judaism...and an angel called "The Shadow of Death" in CC.

Rot is the smell associated with the Valg.

In TOG, Aelin falls through the worlds and is brought back by Rowan tattooing her back with Wyrdmarks, to bring her home.

Bryce likely has Wyrdmarks on her skin and Danika told her it means "Through Love, All is Possible"...could Danika have sent Bryce back home (Dusk's Truth), to connect with her fated mate, to help end the coming war in Twilight of the Gods? The first time Bryce uses the Horn, she falls directly at Azriel's feet.

https://preview.redd.it/b46iyrtgyb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=c8297cc3f1019360c95fbe415d295b5424659e8c

Bryce put the sword and knife together…and what do they create? A Void. The beginning and the end. It certainly could create ultimate destruction should it be allowed to grow, but I think the "ultimate destruction" is in reference to the Big Bad Guys.

I believe it is more likely that it all connects to SJMs new series, Twilight of the Gods. This is one of the names for Ragnarök, as is Doom of the Gods. During Ragnarök, Thor fighting Jörmungandr results in the destruction of Midgard.

https://preview.redd.it/r0nvd9wiyb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb94c350fdff0589b67f49f814cd7caf8bb943ff

By complete coincidence, Bryce lives in Midgard. The Vanir, Valyries, Pegusi, Thurr=Thor, Oden=Odin, Farya = Freyja, Lakos= Loki…these are all Norse mythology connections. Even Freyja in mythology has a special necklace, brísingamen.

We have continuous affirmations that Hunt looks like Thurr. He has powers like Thurr. We know that Orion, in Greek mythology, dies in every story. Thor, as well, dies during the Twilight of the Gods in his battle with Jörmungandr..the Ouroboros…the World serpent. Aka the beginning and the end. The alpha and the omega. The light and the dark.

My theory is that Bryce and Azriel = the Ouroboros. They, along with the weapons only they can properly wield, will bring about the final destruction of…the Valg. The creatures who likely are from Hel…and the Princes…well. I know it’s controversial, but they are likely the Valg Kings as well.

With that being said, Orcus and Aidas…are both names for Hades. Hel/Hades are both names for “the Underworld” in different mythologies.

Bryce’s inspiration, Sailor Moon, was heavily present in both the Crescent City and Twilight of the Gods pinterest boards SJM had. Bryce’s story isn’t over. She is doing exactly what Nesta warned against (you can’t run from your fate).

https://preview.redd.it/oavmhs4lyb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=03c047a35f2fa22a9b41f40d09eb38deeb35b9f3

And funny enough, Sailor Moon falls in love with Tuxedo Mask…a man that literally screams Azriel-coded, including roses. A prince from an entirely different world.

https://preview.redd.it/dcwqmbsnyb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=960ad4a4dab686ae94e90b27ed7a0b17b6b8db3e

I'm ready and very excited to see Bryce, Azriel, and Nesta in Twilight of the Gods.
I believe the new series will be a complete crossover of all three worlds, fighting against the "ultimate" bad guys, the Valg Kings.

also sorry if there are duplicate posts, seems I am having technical difficulties. Lol

Throne of glass is not in the same timeline.

Okay walk with me. Tog is in the past. Acotar and cc are happening concurrently.

Aelin falls DOWN through worlds, but also through time itself. Bryce is yanked sideways through worlds into acotar. Because they’re happening during a linear timeline.

The new acotar titles are the Valkyrie cycles, divided into movements like a music piece. Let’s focus on the music piece. She’s referencing the Stygian symphony (bc of the cover and musical nature of titles). doing so bc aelin’s favorite story is about a dark mythic place of shadow and mist (or a thin place). They’re also the first 3 acts of twilight of the gods, an orchestral place about ragnarok and maybe fourth series and final act

Erilea has not yet been funneled by the asteri into Midgard. Lydia is not Aelin’s descendant, but rather a result of Dorian x Manon. That’s why her eyes are gold but she has Brannon as an ancestor.

Thoughts? 🫣 I’m losing my mind

Just finished house of sky and breath

HOLY SHIT. All I can say is how the FUCK did I not see spoilers of this curveball on the internet. That last page had me dropping the book to the floor with my mouth gaping open. Currently sat waiting for the Amazon driver to deliver book 3. And to say I asked in here a month ago whether I needed to read CC because I didn’t like emails and phones in fantasy series 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Genuinely, how?

For everyone reading the ALL of the books starting with TOG for the first time, being on a timeline to finish the current line up of books before book 6 is released, how are you doing it??? I was numb after KoA and had to read regency romance for two weeks as a palette cleanser because I was forever changed.

So, respectfully, how are you continuing with life?

First of all, a HUGE thank you to Sophia for bringing this Gandalf vs the Balrog-inspired piece to life. We are obsessed with her art style and can’t get over all the details 😍 it’s incredibly beautiful and epic and deserves all the praise. She perfectly encapsulated the demonic/ominous vibes we envisioned for Apollion as well as the ethereal, badass vibes for Bryce! 💖

The Prince of the Pit wants a worthy opponent this time. One who will not break so easily, as Prince Pelias did so long ago. He insists on facing you, Starborn, at your full power.”

Thought I'd start the ToG series, only to find that the waiting line for my library is until 2038 😭🤣

I'm almost finished ACOMAF, so i thought I'd go online to my library website and reserve another SJM audiobook, and i swear I've never seen a waiting line this long 🤣 I ain't waiting over a decade to get this, though, so I think I'll just get them off audible haha.

Is anyone else just…not feeling it yet?

I LOVE these series. Devoured all of them. Took the first 50 pages of crescent city to the face because I knew the hook was in there and it was.

I started reading right around when ACOSF was released. I was there through the hype and speculation of CC2 and especially CC3. Also not this sub related, but fourth wing releases, and also being a big Harry Potter nerd, I just LOVE a good fan theory.

I scoured these subs, did intense re-reads, saw every tiktok with any obscure ~evidence~. I didn’t hold a moment against the SJM for my own speculations falling flat. I just LOVED the lead up and anticipation to a new reveal in the story, new depths added to characters I’ve fallen in love with. I actually got banned for 2 weeks leading up to the release of CC3 because I couldn’t resist speculating on unproven spoilers. Not a brag, just couldn’t resist connecting with other fans over any part of the lead up to a highly anticipated release.

For some reason though..I just weirdly can’t find it in me this time around. I don’t know if it’s because I had some mild letdowns over CC3? I don’t know if it’s because I’ve loved these series so deeply and now that they’re being linked, things are changing? I just wonder if any other fans are struggling to find the giddy anticipation?

Still excited to read! I just could never imagine being someone who could…wait.

Who is Koschei?

This book is about Koschei the Deathless. Who is that? I can't remember that name. I guess it's time to start the series again for the second time.

Assasins blade first, third or fourth?

This Saturday I am finally tackling TOG for the new acotar books. Only reason I haven't read that series yet is that I am undecisive about when to read Assasin's blade.

Thus I'd like to know compelling arguments without too many spoilers why I should read it at a certain point.

For example:

"Many initial confusion is cleared if you read AB first."

"Read it later because she will tell her story when she is ready."

Please help a girl out who feels trapped in this endless debate😞🤞

Convince me to read A Court of Silver Flames (Spoilers welcome!)

SOoooo don't be mad, but I never read A Court of Silver Flames when it came out.

Mainly because at the time I was pissed off that we were switching away from Feyre’s POV after everything we went through together in the original trilogy. Plus, I’m not huge on pure romance I fell in love with ACOTAR for the found family, the high-stakes adventure, and the WAR**.** If there's a war or massive battle prep going on, I am LOCKED IN.

I’ve heard rumors that the upcoming books are setting up a massive war, and I’m worried I’ll be completely lost if I skip ACOSF. Also, I saw a clip/edit online recently that actually looked pretty decent, so my interest is officially piqued.

For those who have read it: Why should I read ACOSF?

Feel free to drop full spoilers spoilers actually help convince me! How much actual plot, world-building, and war setup is in this book compared to the romance? Is the found-family dynamic still strong even with Nesta as the lead?

Convince me to dive back in!

Am I the only one who doesn’t want ACOTAR 6 & 7 to connect to TOG and CC?

I really don’t want them to be connected to the TOG and CC worlds. The ACOTAR world already has so many plot holes and unresolved things that need to be addressed, and I feel like adding connections to other worlds would just make everything even more complicated.

There’s already SO much within the ACOTAR world that needs to be explored and fixed. I’d much rather see SJM focus on that instead of adding more worlds and connections.

* Edit *
The problem is that ACOTAR already has SO much going on within Prythian. You have the Dusk Court, Koschei, the remaining Asteri-related implications, Illyrian politics, the Valkyries, the gods, the Cauldron, the Daglan, Elain’s powers, Azriel and Lucien’s stories, etc.

Theory for the cover of ACOFM.

Okay, maybe this is a little too insane, but hear me out and please don’t be too mean if this is completely crazy 😭.

Me and some of my friends were looking and deep diving into the new covers, and one of my friends is studying medicine. While looking at the second cover, she noticed that there are three little circles on top of the spider’s head. She said they look a LOT like a sign thats visible under the microscope for a specific disease, this sign being called “ owl’s eye”. (I’ll leave the images here.)

She hasn’t read TOG yet, so when she said that, my mind literally exploded and I started going down a rabbit hole.

SPOILERS FOR TOG AHEAD:

>!As we’ve all been thinking, the spider could potentially be one of the Valg spiders from TOG. So what if those three circles actually represent the “eyes of the owl”?!<

>!We know that owls are the symbol of Silba, and as we found out in TOD, Yrene with Silba’s gift is able to defeat the Valg, she’s able to free the person from the Valg, to drive the Valg out like she’s treating a parasite.!<

I KNOW it’s a little crazy😭 but I had to put the theory out there because >!the three circles + owl’s eye cells + Silba + the Valg!< connection feels way too interesting to ignore.

AGAIN shout out to my friend who noticed this little detail and connected it to her studies.

Let’s Talk About The Stygian Spiders And Who They Become

Big spoilers for all Maasverse series.

“And old enemies will emerge from nightmares of the past.“

A long long time ago, way back when Queen of Storms was still in the works, an interviewer asked Sarah J. Maas if she had a favorite character. She answered:

>”Celaena/Aelin, of course. But I looove writing Manon’s scenes (I can unload my every horrible thought onto her), and Rowan’s scenes (because he’s…Rowan). And anything with Aedion (boyfriend looooves to push buttons). I also really, really loved the stygian spider in HOF—like, weirdly loved her.”

I’m sure we’ve all seen the spider on the cover of ACO7, and read the blurb about “old enemies” and OH BOY DO I HAVE A THEORY ABOUT THAT. I’ve actually been shouting this theory into the void for a little over a year AND I AM EXCITED!!

Not Possessed, But Born

I’ll dive right into it. Erawan’s Valg army collapsed upon his death, so no more Valg exist in Erilea, right?

>“The spider, somehow, was Valg. And not possessed, but born.”

Well, maybe not. Erawan’s armies were comprised of demons summoned from the Valg lands and bound into human hosts using wyrdstone. But the Stygian Spiders aren’t possessed - they came over through a portal with Maeve.

The power that bound Erawan’s armies to the Wyrdstone implanted in their hosts died with him. But the Stygian Spiders weren’t bound to Erilea by Erawan’s magic. Which means they likely stayed behind in Erilea after Erawan’s fall.

So what do we think happened to them After Erawan?

Prior to Erawan’s uprising, the Stygian Spiders were generally tolerated because (unlike the kharankui) they took steps to integrate themselves. They created a product of value and established trade. Granted, this was mostly done to lure in unsuspecting victims, but still. Spidersilk was a lure most merchants considered worth the risk.

However, in the wake of Erawan’s War, do you think Queen Aelin or King Dorian would let an established population of Valg continue to live and hunt in their lands? I think not.

So do we think they were killed off, or what? Glad you asked. I’ll tell you what I think they did - they walked right out of Erilea and into another world. Because the Stygian Spiders are world-walkers.

The Stygian Spiders followed Maeve into Erilea. They were not brought over, they walked of their own accord. They are as much world-walkers as she is. Remember, world-walking can be taught - Maeve and Aelin learned it from books. Hel’s Princes learned it from their enemy’s captured lieutenants. And the Spiders live by the Ferian Gap - a place shrouded in mist. A thin place. And the word ferian means “to transport.”

So where do we think the Spiders went After Erilea? I’ll give you a hint: I think we see them again. (And yes, I did capitalize “After Erawan”and “After Erilea” on purpose; thank you for noticing x)

Last we saw of them in ToG, the Stygian Spiders had just learned how to steal power. Falkan’s shapeshifter magic appears as “a little seed of light” glowing in Cyrene’s belly - doesn’t that imagery sound familiar? Where else have we seen magic in the form of a little glowing kernel or seed being transferred to another?

>Bryce's breath caught in her throat as an image of a Fae female kneeling at the foot of a throne appeared, a seed of light in her upheld hands. Smooth, delicate fingers closed around the Fae female's droplet of power. It flickered, illumining pale skin.

Again. The Stygian Spiders can shapeshift. They can world walk. They can steal power. They use lures to trap their prey. Are y’all picking up what I’m putting down?

The Wolf Shifters and the Asterion Fae

The Stygian Spiders have ancient beef with a certain wolf tribe who showed up at the 11th hour to slay their cousins, the kharankui. Said wolf tribe showed up with *magical blades that glow with starlight*, blades that were crafted by an ancient race of Fae with a *very* familiar name. The Asterion Fae were old allies of the Doranelle Fae, who took Asterion weapons to Antica and then to Terrasen, where they joined the Fabled Wolf Tribe.

Still with me? Ok.

Remember how in HOSAB, a certain other group of world-walking, shape-shifting, magic-stealing bad guys bragged about how the shifter fae “didn’t see the old enemy that reached a friendly hand across time and space?” Who was the old enemy again?

The Old Enemy

>“But you know who they hate even more?” Aelin pointed with Goldryn toward the battlefield. “Those spiders. Nesryn Faliq told me all about how their ancestors battled them in the southern continent.

Remember how in HOFAS, we learn that this race of “ancient monsters” suddenly started going by a new, very familiar name around the same time that they *lured* the shifter fae into their new land? Remember how the wolf shifters - likely the descendents of a certain fabled wolf tribe - were said to be their most loyal soldiers??

The Daglan went back in time and space to lure their old enemy into Midgard. And they went back disguised as friends - the legendary Asterion Fae.

Ancient Monsters

Remember how we see one of these ancient monsters crawling out of her glass coffin “like a hatching spider”? And this particular creature has onyx hair, moon white skin, and unnaturally red lips - just like a certain spider queen?

How about the fact that Rigelus’s magic burns like acid and “spiderwebs” across Hunt’s brow, that Hunt claims it feels like insects crawling inside him.

Rigelus in Fae form:
> He appeared as a Fae boy of seventeen or so, dark-haired and gangly. A weak facade to veil the ancient monster beneath.

Cyrene in human form:
> Small and unremarkable, save for those unnerving black eyes. Not pretty, but with a deadly, ancient sort of allure that even a new hide couldn’t conceal.

Cyrene is *also* described as an “ancient monster” by Manon.

The Dawn of the Asteri Era

Speaking of Cyrene, the Stygian spider that SJM “weirdly loved” - she becomes the first Stygian spider to steal magic and shapeshift.

She’s also the first Stygian spider to see the true potential in Dorian’s raw power - also known as first light.

>Cyrene sucked in a breath. “A rare gift of magic.” **Her stare turned ravenous** as she took in Dorian. “For a rare king.”

Cyrene - the spider that captured Sarah’s heart all the way back in HoF - is the first to realize that if her people learn to take *raw power* rather than beauty and dreams and years, then some day they might learn to wield it. The Asteri Era begins with her.

Want some other interesting things to think about?

How about the 7 Valg princesses that the Kharankui revered? How about the fact that a Valg queen sacrificed herself and six of those princesses hybridized with her trusted handmaidens to Erawan’s war. The Stygians live right by the Ferian Gap where Erawan kept his aerial legion - instead Maeve kept her control over them a secret and opened a portal to bring up the kharankui all the way from the south.

How about the fact that the Valg, including the spiders, feared fire above all - and the Asteri live in a Crystal Palace and sleep in glass sarcophagi.

How about the fact that the Stygian Spiders hale from the Ruhnn Mountains? Or that the kharankui come from the Dagul Fells? Or that the kharankui are enemies of an aerial legion from Windhaven?

So anyway, that spider on the cover of ACO7 has me stoked for what comes next.

Omg what if the ACOTAR6 is CC3 events from ACOTAR perspective?

The title says Splintered Harmony, people are speculating it being about Gwen but what if it’s just CC3 events from ACOTAR perspective? The Harp is literally a musical object, links to Harmony and Splintered Harmony could definitely mean the unease in the Night court??? And the synopsis about Night Court reeling from betrayal? Literally adds up

It’s also short, I think SJM would want to update the readers on what happened in CC3, especially from an ACOTAR perspective… I’ll hate it but still lol, that’s why it took them so long to do the reveal and the synopsis is very cryptic

My Completely Unhinged ACOTAR 6 Theory: The Dusk Court, Queen of Queens & the Maasverse

⚠️ MASSIVE spoilers for ACOTAR, Crescent City AND Throne of Glass.

Okay.

I've been thinking about this WAY too much.

I have a collection of increasingly unhinged theories about the next ACOTAR books involving Nesta, the Dusk Court, Ramiel, the eight-pointed star, Bryce, Aelin, Manon, Mor, Dorian and the Maasverse.

Some of these are probably complete nonsense.

Some might have a tiny grain of truth.

But I'm writing them down before ACOTAR 6 comes out, because if even ONE of these theories turns out to be right, I expect a medal.

If Aelin walks through a portal, I expect the Platinum Medal of Unhinged Maasverse Foresight.

1. THE THIRD MOUNTAIN — RAMIEL

We have three sacred mountains in Prythian.

Two have extremely significant histories and structures associated with them.

And then there's Ramiel.

Nesta has climbed Ramiel.

She has conquered it.

But she has never really explored what might be beneath it.

And I think that is suspicious.

What if the three mountains aren't simply three important locations?

What if they are connected?

Three ancient structures.

Three seals.

Three gates.

Three pieces of something that existed before the current Court system.

We know the Prison sits atop an ancient location connected to the Dusk Court.

So what if Ramiel is the third piece of that puzzle?

Nesta has already done the symbolic part:

She conquered the mountain.

Maybe the next step is:

She goes beneath it.

2. THE DUSK COURT IS GOING TO BE CENTRAL

This is the part I'm probably most confident about.

Bryce leaves Nesta with Gwydion/Starsword and essentially sends her off to figure out why Nesta has the eight-pointed star.

That feels like an enormous narrative thread to leave dangling.

Nesta has:

 • the eight-pointed star
 • Gwydion
 • a connection to the Prison
 • a connection to the Cauldron
 • Made weapons
 • an affinity with death
 • enormous but still somewhat unexplained power
 • and now a reason to investigate the ancient Dusk Court

So I don't think the eight-pointed star is merely a cool tattoo.

I think it is a key.

A key to what?

Possibly the Dusk Court.

Possibly the Prison.

Possibly something beneath Ramiel.

Possibly something even bigger.

3. WHAT HAPPENS NOW THAT THE ASTERI ARE GONE?

This is more speculative.

The Asteri/Vesperus connection to the Prison is gone.

But what happens to whatever was sealed, suppressed or bound there?

What if the Prison was never just a prison?

What if it was also a seal?

And now that the Asteri influence is gone, something ancient can wake up.

Something connected to the Dusk Court.

Something that has been dormant for thousands of years.

And Nesta is holding one of the things capable of unlocking it.

4. "QUEEN OF QUEENS" MIGHT ACTUALLY BE FORESHADOWING

This is one of my favourite parts.

Nesta is repeatedly told that she needs to find her own way.

Not Feyre's way.

Not Rhys's way.

Not the Night Court's way.

Hers.

And what does Nesta actually do when she starts finding herself?

She gathers women.

The Valkyries aren't just a fighting group.

They become a sisterhood.

Nesta's strength is partly in bringing powerful women together.

And she has repeatedly been associated with the idea of being a Queen of Queens.

So what if that eventually becomes literal?

What if Nesta isn't meant to rule one Court?

What if she's meant to bring together queens from different courts — and potentially different worlds?

Not an army.

Queens.

5. NESTA TRIES TO CALL BRYCE...

Here's where things get completely insane.

Nesta now has:

 • Gwydion
 • the eight-pointed star
 • knowledge that Bryce has crossed worlds
 • a connection to ancient magic

Imagine she discovers that the eight-pointed star is capable of reaching across worlds.

Naturally, she tries to reach Bryce.

But the magic doesn't work quite how she expects.

It recognises:

Fae.

Starborn/ancient power.

A connection between worlds.

A powerful female ruler.

And instead of Bryce...

Someone else answers.

The wrong universe.

The wrong queen.

6. AELIN.

YES.

I KNOW.

But hear me out.

Aelin has already crossed Prythian once.

At the end of Kingdom of Ash, while falling through worlds, she sees Feyre and Rhysand.

Rhys even uses his power to slow her fall.

This is no longer merely fan theory — the Maasverse connection is canon.

And Bryce later physically crosses into Prythian.

So we KNOW the worlds can interact.

The question is whether someone can deliberately open that door.

What if Nesta is the person who figures out how?

Aelin doesn't need another Throne of Glass series.

Her story is complete.

But she could appear for one extraordinary arc because something has gone catastrophically wrong.

And if Nesta is trying to call Bryce and accidentally pulls the wrong person through...

Aelin.

I would simply die.

7. NESTA + AELIN WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY INSANE

Think about these two women.

Both are:

 • queens
 • warriors
 • incredibly stubborn
 • frightening when pushed
 • willing to do morally questionable things for the people they love
 • deeply traumatised
 • willing to sacrifice themselves
 • surrounded by powerful women
 • carrying enormous amounts of power

But their personalities couldn't be more different.

Nesta is cold, controlled and brutally direct.

Aelin is theatrical, chaotic and constantly manipulating the room.

They would either become best friends immediately or attempt to kill one another.

Possibly both.

And their powers are almost perfect opposites:

🔥 Aelin — fire and destruction

💀 Nesta — death and creation

Imagine those two fighting on the same side.

8. BUT WHAT IF NESTA ISN'T TRYING TO SUMMON AELIN?

What if she is trying to summon Bryce.

And the eight-pointed star doesn't actually work like a telephone.

It searches for a corresponding magical signature.

So Nesta thinks:

>

The magic thinks:

>

And goes:

"Got it."

Wrong answer.

😂

That could be the mechanism that introduces the wider Maasverse without making the crossover feel completely random.

9. MANON.

And this is where I think things get REALLY interesting.

If Aelin appears, I desperately want Manon involved.

But I don't think Manon would simply appear as "Aelin's witch friend."

I think she could have a completely separate reason to become important.

Mor.

Hear me out.

10. WHAT IF MOR IS A WITCH?

This theory has existed in fandom for a while, but I think there are too many little parallels to completely dismiss it.

First:

Mor's power manifested after her first period.

Her power erupted violently around the time of her first bleeding.

That immediately reminded me of the witches in Throne of Glass, whose powers and witch identity are tied to their development and first blood.

That parallel alone isn't proof.

But then we have:

THE RED.

Mor wears red constantly.

Red is practically her visual signature.

And Crochan witches are strongly associated with their red cloaks.

Again, not proof.

But SJM loves visual symbolism.

Then we have the fact that:

We know surprisingly little about Mor's actual lineage.

Especially her mother.

And Mor's true power is strangely underexplored.

She's powerful.

Extremely powerful.

But we don't really know the full extent of what she can do.

Her power is described as Truth.

But what does that actually mean?

And Rhys has described Mor as the person he would call when everything goes wrong.

That phrasing feels very significant to me.

Not:

>

But:

"She's the one we call when it all goes wrong."

That sounds like a last resort.

And that makes me think of the Yielding.

11. WHAT IF MOR'S POWER IS CONNECTED TO THE YIELDING?

This is probably one of my more speculative theories.

The Yielding is essentially a witch's ultimate release of power.

It is devastating.

It is a last resort.

And it costs the witch her life.

Mor's power has never really been fully explained.

Yet we're repeatedly told she has enormous power and that she is the person to call when everything has failed.

What if her "Truth" power is only the surface manifestation of something much larger?

What if Mor is capable of a magical release that is similar in scale to the Yielding?

And what if she doesn't even know what she is?

12. THIS IS WHERE MANON COMES IN.

Imagine Manon meets Mor.

She immediately recognises something that nobody in Prythian has recognised.

She looks at Mor and asks:

>

Mor:

>

Manon:

>

😭

Because if Mor is secretly descended from witches — potentially Crochan witches — then she could have been living in Prythian for centuries completely separated from her people.

She would be:

A lone witch.

And Manon is not just a witch.

She's a Witch Queen.

So what if Manon doesn't simply befriend Mor?

What if she CLAIMS her?

Not necessarily romantically.

Not necessarily as ownership.

But in the very specific sense of:

"You are one of my people, whether you know it or not."

And that feels incredibly Manon.

13. WHAT IF MOR IS CONNECTED TO THE CROCHAN QUEENS?

This is where the theory gets even more insane.

What if Mor isn't simply descended from witches?

What if she's connected to Crochan royal blood?

That could explain:

 • her unexplained power
 • the secrecy around her mother
 • the red
 • the timing of her power manifestation
 • her strange relationship with Truth
 • why her true abilities remain hidden
 • and why Manon might immediately recognise something in her

And if Mor is a descendant of Crochan royalty...

Then we potentially have:

Manon — Witch Queen

Mor — Crochan bloodline

Nesta — Queen of Queens

And suddenly the phrase Queen of Queens has yet another layer.

14. MANON "CLAIMING" MOR WOULD BE A PERFECT PARALLEL

Manon spent Throne of Glass learning what it means to be a witch, what was stolen from the Crochans, and what it means to be a queen.

Imagine her discovering a witch who has been completely separated from that history.

Mor has spent centuries believing she is one thing.

Manon looks at her and realises:

"You are one of us."

That could be an incredibly emotional reveal for Mor.

And potentially explain why SJM has kept her lineage and true powers so frustratingly vague.

Maybe we aren't supposed to know yet.

15. AND THEN DORIAN WALKS IN.

Because apparently I want to suffer.

Imagine Manon arrives.

Then Dorian walks in behind her.

Feyre sees him.

And something about his face feels...

familiar.

Because what if the Bone Carver's form wasn't actually Nyx?

What if Feyre misunderstood what she was seeing?

What if the Bone Carver showed Feyre the appearance of Dorian?

Not necessarily because Dorian literally travelled through time.

But because the Bone Carver was showing her something connected to Dorian's future, destiny or power.

Dorian's magic is already incredibly strange.

He can shapeshift.

He can manipulate magic.

He can create and destroy.

His power doesn't fit neatly into one conventional magical system.

So why did the Bone Carver choose that particular form?

What if Feyre was looking at Dorian without knowing it?

Imagine Feyre meeting Dorian years later.

She looks at him.

He looks at her.

And Feyre suddenly realises:

>

Dorian:

>

Feyre:

>

😭

16. AELIN AND RHYSAND.

There's another delicious possibility.

Aelin has already seen Rhysand.

Rhysand has already seen Aelin.

Neither of them fully understood what happened.

What if Aelin eventually returns to Prythian and they recognise each other?

Imagine Rhys realising:

"That was you."

And Aelin realising:

"You were the one who slowed my fall."

That would turn what looked like a tiny crossover moment in Kingdom of Ash into a delayed payoff several books later.

17. AND THEN WE GET BRYCE.

If Nesta accidentally opens the door to the wrong world...

Eventually Bryce could still arrive.

Which would give us:

Nesta

Prythian / Dusk Court

Bryce

Midgard / Starborn

Aelin

Erilea / Terrasen

Manon

Witch Kingdoms

And potentially:

Mor

Hidden Crochan lineage

Dorian

King / extraordinary magic

And suddenly we're not talking about a cute crossover.

We're talking about the worlds having to cooperate.

18. THE "QUEEN OF QUEENS" THEORY COULD BECOME THE ENTIRE POINT.

Maybe Nesta isn't supposed to become Queen of the Dusk Court.

Maybe she's supposed to become something completely different.

The Valkyries were her first attempt at creating something outside the existing structures.

The Dusk Court could be the second.

And eventually:

Nesta becomes the person who connects powerful women across worlds.

Not because she's the strongest.

But because she's the one who realises:

>

And THAT would make the "Queen of Queens" title incredibly satisfying.

19. THE THREE MOUNTAINS COULD BE THE MECHANISM.

This is my biggest structural theory.

What if the three mountains are connected to three ancient points of power?

One associated with the Prison.

One associated with the old Dusk Court.

One beneath Ramiel.

And what if the eight-pointed star is the key that connects them?

Perhaps the mountains aren't merely sacred.

They're locks.

Or gates.

Or anchors.

And Nesta has already done the one thing nobody else could:

She conquered Ramiel.

Now she has to discover what it is protecting.

20. KOSCHEI COULD BE THE BIGGER THREAT.

Koschei is still unresolved.

If the next ACOTAR arc expands beyond one Court, he is a perfect threat to do it with.

He is ancient.

He isn't neatly contained within the current political structure.

And if the Dusk Court, the Prison, the mountains and ancient magic are connected, Koschei could be part of something much older than the current Courts.

Which could explain why defeating him might require more than the Night Court.

Maybe Prythian can't handle what's coming alone.

Hence the Queens.

21. THE ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED VERSION

Okay.

Here's the version I'm putting my name on.

Nesta discovers something beneath/within Ramiel.

The eight-pointed star activates.

The Dusk Court awakens.

She realises the star can connect worlds.

She tries to reach Bryce.

Instead, she accidentally opens a door into another universe.

Aelin comes through.

Manon follows.

Dorian is with her.

Feyre sees Dorian and suddenly remembers the Bone Carver.

Manon looks at Mor and immediately recognises something witch-like about her.

Mor insists she isn't a witch.

Manon disagrees.

Bryce eventually arrives.

Rhys recognises Aelin.

Aelin recognises Rhys.

Nesta realises she hasn't simply opened a portal.

She has discovered a way to connect the Maasverse.

And suddenly the "Queen of Queens" isn't a poetic title.

It's her role.

MY OFFICIAL PREDICTIONS — WRITTEN BEFORE ACOTAR 6

Here is the list I'm putting on record so I can't change it later:

 1. Ramiel/the third mountain has an unexplored ancient secret beneath it.
 2. The Dusk Court becomes central to the next ACOTAR arc.
 3. The eight-pointed star is a key/mechanism, not merely a symbol.
 4. The Prison's ancient magic changes now that the Asteri influence is gone.
 5. Nesta's "Queen of Queens" role becomes genuinely important, potentially literally.
 6. Nesta discovers a way to deliberately reach another world.
 7. She initially attempts to contact Bryce.
 8. Something goes wrong and she reaches the wrong world/person.
 9. Aelin appears in Prythian again.
 10. Manon appears.
 11. Mor's hidden lineage becomes important.
 12. Mor is secretly descended from witches, potentially Crochan witches.
 13. Manon recognises Mor as a witch.
 14. Manon "claims" Mor as one of her witches in some form.
 15. Mor's true power is substantially greater/more unusual than we currently understand.
 16. Mor's power has some connection or parallel to the Yielding.
 17. Mor may have some connection to Crochan royal blood.
 18. Dorian becomes relevant to the ACOTAR plot.
 19. The Bone Carver/Dorian connection is real in some form.
 20. Aelin and Rhys eventually recognise/reconnect with each other.
 21. There is another major Maasverse crossover.
 22. The three mountains have a deeper shared purpose.
 23. Koschei is connected to the larger threat.
 24. The wider conflict ultimately requires cooperation between multiple worlds.

AND IF I'M WRONG?

I have no defence.

I have spent an unreasonable amount of time connecting:

red clothing → witches → first bleeding → Yielding → Mor's unexplained power → Manon → Crochan lineage → Queen of Queens → Dusk Court → Ramiel → Bryce → Aelin → Dorian → the Bone Carver

So I fully accept that Reddit may diagnose me with something.

But if Manon walks into Prythian, looks at Mor and says "You're a witch"...

I WANT MY MEDAL.

And if Aelin walks through that damn door?

PLATINUM.

No discussion.

Theory Acotar 6 and 7

I think Sarah is going to send Elain and Lucien somewhere outside the Night Court along with others (maybe Vassa and Jurian), and that’s when their development will begin. I feel the same way about Gwyn and Azriel, though I’m not sure if they’ll stay on a mission within the Night Court or head elsewhere.

I also think the shift in power mentioned in the synopsis will involve Eris taking his father's place and Tamlin losing his position in the Spring Court. The betrayal could center on Lucien and Helion discovering their family bond, or someone in the Inner Circle hiding something (such as a partnership or a piece of information). Or even a character hiding another one.

Help?! Watch books do I definitely need to have read before the new releases?

I'm re-reading ACOTAR right now, then from a quick Google it's saying only CC is the must as it's multiversed, and ToG is an 'extra'. Is this true? Will I be ok waiting to read ToG until after the releases? Lmaooo I'm stressing myself out rn 😭🫶🏼
