bakery drama after 4 weeks
started as a baker/packaging person about a month ago and things got weird fast. from day one i was jumping in to help the cake decorating team since i have some baking background and picked it up quick. multiple coworkers kept telling me i should apply for a decorator spot and talk to my manager about it so i finally did
when i brought it up she got all excited saying she was actually waiting for me to ask, told me to watch for the job posting and explained the whole pay bump situation. i was pumped and figured it was basically a done deal
showed up today doing my usual thing helping the decorators like i have been for weeks. then my manager pulls me aside and completely flips - says the position isn't happening anymore because someone else is coming back for it and i need to stop helping the decorating team immediately since im "not a decorator"
i was totally blindsided and now i dont even want to show up tomorrow. just needed to rant somewhere because that was such a slap in the face. i get that its corporate retail but damn, they really got my hopes up just to crush them the next day. there whole approach was just so unprofessional
