AIO my boyfriend pranked me for months
Hi all,
I’ve been with my bf for around 10 months. Early on in the relationship he told me he used to have a job that some people see as controversial (I don’t wanna say what it is to preserve anonymity).
At first I didn’t believe him. I was like no way lol. He was like no I’m being serious. He went into details about why he got into the job. When he did it, for how long, etc etc.
As we kept dating I still wasn’t sure if he was joking about it or not. I brought it up multiple times, asking him if he was serious. He kept saying yes, the stories got more elaborate. He told me a bunch of details about it. He even told me “go ask my friends they all know as well!” This was ongoing for months. I ended up accepting that he wasn’t joking because he’s been talking about it for so long, even his friends were like “yeah he used to do that” when I asked so I figured okay cool, I guess he was being serious about it.
A few days ago we were hanging out and he was like what would you do if I told you I didn’t actually have that job? Long story short it came out that for the past few months he was actually joking about everything he told me relating to that job, he never did it. I was like there’s no way you told me a bunch of details. He was like yeah I made it up I wanted to see how long I could keep it going for.
I don’t know I feel weird about it. I feel like he kinda lied to me for 10 months as a “joke”. AIO?
