Why do rental flat interiors require so much mental bandwidth?

Recently started doing interiors for a rental apartment and was surprised by how exhausting the process became.

I already had one vendor, but there were still endless:

Design discussions

Layout decisions

Finish selections

Iterations and back-and-forth

And this wasn’t even a luxury home.

As a landlord, I just wanted a clean, modern, functional apartment with good execution and minimal involvement from my side.

Made me wonder — do most landlords actually want this level of involvement in rental interiors, or is there just no simpler end-to-end approach today?
