Even the SA offered me coffee first?

Even the SA offered me coffee first?

I went to the boutique last week, and the vibe felt different.

The SA, who is usually pretty reserved, actually offered me coffee first and casually mentioned that fewer people have been asking about bags lately.

I was a little surprised, because it used to feel like I had to be careful when asking, but this time they seemed more welcoming.

Maybe I just went during a slow period, or maybe people are really not as obsessed as before.

Have you noticed this too? Are SAs becoming warmer lately?

Five popular Hermès pink shades compare

When these five shades are placed side by side, the differences become much easier to see:

3Q Rose Sakura: pale sakura pink

M7 Rose Darling: a softer pink tone

09 Mauve Pale: light greyish mauve

X9 Mauve Sylvestre: stronger purple undertone

5P Bubblegum Pink: brighter and more saturated

The same color code can also look different on different leathers. Togo, TC, Swift, Epsom, and exotic leathers all reflect color differently because of their texture and finish.

So when comparing color charts, it helps to look at both the shade and the leather.

Love the new color, but I messed up the scarf

I got this little bucket bag mainly because of the new color.

I only wanted to play around with the scarf for a bit, but once I untied it, I couldn’t get it back the same way.

Lesson learned: clumsy hands should not be trusted with scarf styling. So for now, this is how it stays.

A last-minute picnic, and the bag found its perfect backdrop

The weather was too nice, so I went out for a little last-minute picnic.Didn’t expect this little yellow basket to match the flower field so well. It almost feels like the bag picked this spot itself.

His little reserved seat

I think this bag has officially been claimed.

I was trying to take a simple photo, but the little one sat inside like it was made for him. The scarf, the sunglasses, the serious face… somehow he looks more ready to go out than I do.

At this point, I’m not sure if this is my bag or his private seat.

A Detail I Never Paid Attention to Before

While talking with BoBo about an exotic leather bag, I realized that I had always focused on the leather, color, and hardware—but rarely checked the accompanying paperwork.

These documents may include details about the material and its source. What matters is not simply having them, but whether the information matches the item. It’s a small detail I’ll pay more attention to from now on.

One H Clasp, So Many Different Personalities

I used to think the H clasp only came in the usual gold- and silver-toned finishes. This chart made me realize how many variations there are.

Besides polished metal, some versions feature textured surfaces, geometric "Disco" facets, diamonds, shell or enamel-like inlays, turquoise, leather, lizard, and crocodile details.

A small hardware fact: these designs are not simply different colors. Their materials and surface treatments change the way the clasp reflects light.

Textured metal creates a softer, scattered shine

Faceted surfaces produce sharper reflections

Leather and exotic-skin inlays make the clasp blend into the bag

Shell, enamel, and stone details add natural color variation

Diamond versions look brighter but require more careful handling

Their care needs are also different. Metal can be gently wiped with a soft dry cloth, while leather, shell, stone, and exotic-skin details should be kept away from moisture, perfume, and cleaning products.

Some names shown on collector charts—such as "pineapple" or "water-ripple"—may be informal nicknames rather than one universal naming system.

It is surprising how changing one small clasp can give the same bag a completely different personality.

27 H Pinks — Same Color Family, Completely Different Results

I used to think pink could be divided into just a few categories: pale pink, cherry-blossom pink, and bright Barbie pink.

After putting these charts together, I realized how wide the pink family actually is. This set includes 27 commonly seen pink and pink-leaning shades, from Rose Dragée, Rose Sakura, Rose d’Été, and Mauve Sylvestre to stronger tones such as Rose Jaipur, Rose Tyrien, Rose Shocking, and Rose Mexico.

One useful thing to remember is that a color name does not tell the whole story.

The same shade can look noticeably different depending on the leather:

Swift usually looks smoother and more saturated

Epsom gives the color a cleaner, sharper appearance

Togo can make it look slightly deeper and softer

Chèvre adds fine grain and a subtle sheen

Ostrich and alligator change the look through their natural texture and light reflection

Lighting matters too. Warm indoor light can bring out coral or peach undertones, while cooler daylight makes mauve and blue-based pinks easier to see.

Even the hardware changes the overall impression: gold-toned hardware adds warmth, while silver-toned hardware makes the color feel cooler.

So a color chart is useful for comparison, but it is still only a reference. Leather, lighting, screen settings, and natural material variation can all affect the final appearance.

Which group do you prefer: pale powdery pinks, coral pinks, or deeper magenta tones?

This colorblock bag feels like it couldn’t pick just one color

This color combo is honestly pretty interesting.

Sesame on one side, elephant grey on the other, and midnight blue inside — it sounds like three very different moods, but somehow they work together.

At first glance, I thought the contrast might be a little strong. But the more I look at it, the more I like how balanced it feels.

One side is warmer, one side is cooler, and the inside gives it a little hidden surprise.

It doesn’t feel like a loud colorblock bag. It feels more like a bag with two personalities, depending on which angle you’re looking at.

Would you pick a split-color bag like this, or do you still prefer one solid color?

Is there an H bag more random than this one?

Do any H lovers have a bag more random than this?

I feel like I’ve been looking at the classic styles for too long, and lately I’m more interested in the strange little pieces.

This Bolide with wheels is exactly that.

It looks like a tiny car, but it is still somehow a bag. I brought it out for lunch, put it on the table, and it almost blended in with the plates and glassware.

For a second, it looked more like part of the table setting than something I carried in.

Honestly, I kind of love how unserious it is.

Can you spot where the bag is?

u/Hot-Record-1871 — 1 month ago

Used it only a few times and the hardware came off… is this normal?

I honestly don’t know what to say.

I’ve only carried this bag around three or four times, and the hardware already came loose like this.

For something that’s supposed to be handmade and carefully finished, this is really frustrating.

I’m not even someone who uses bags roughly, so seeing this happen so quickly makes me question the quality control a bit.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with the hardware?

Would you take it back and ask for repair, or just fix it yourself?

One of My Most Used Bags Recently

This is one of the bags I find myself taking out all the time recently.

It’s perfect for everyday plans like shopping, grabbing coffee, or a relaxed afternoon out.

The lunchbox-style shape is structured and keeps its form really well. Even today, after putting a lot of daily essentials inside, it still didn’t lose its shape.

But looking at this photo, I suddenly feel like my shoes don’t really match the bag.

I honestly don’t even remember what I was thinking when I bought these shoes.

Have you ever had something in your wardrobe that you loved when you bought it, but later started questioning your choice?

Thinking About Life

Everyone thinks I'm having a deep moment.

Meanwhile I'm just checking how the dial looks in different lighting.

u/Hot-Record-1871 — 2 months ago

This combination shouldn’t work this well

Blue dials are everywhere, but ice blue? Not so much.

Wore this rose gold watch today with a light blue leather strap, and I have to say—the combination is surprisingly elegant without feeling over the top.

Would you ever mix colors like this, or do you prefer sticking to more familiar tones?

u/Hot-Record-1871 — 3 months ago

This color is dangerously perfect for summer

This dial caught my attention immediately the moment I tried it on.

The bright turquoise color feels ridiculously fresh for summer, but somehow still looks clean instead of loud.

It also comes with a black textile strap, which completely changes the vibe into something more low-key and sporty.

Anyone else wearing this version lately?

His watch search accidentally became mine

My husband wanted this watch for the longest time, so we basically walked into every store hoping someone would say “maybe.”

By the last stop, it was already close to closing time and there was still a line outside. We honestly weren’t expecting anything anymore.

Then I saw the person in front of us checking out and immediately thought… wait, maybe there’s actually stock left.

And somehow this beauty ended up on my wrist instead because the 36 looked too small on him
