AITA for hating my sister
My sister (14f) used to be just a normal girl till about summer of 2024, that's probably when she started vaping, smoking and drinking on the regular. When my parents found out they were understandably furious and she left our house the same day convinced our countrys CPS to get her to house her with another family. After a week week she came back, did family therapy with my parents and we all kinda just talked it out.
For the next year or so it wasn't even that bad, she got into a better school, her relation with our parents got better and it seemed as if she was going in the right direction, till about January.
My relation with her was never really the greatest but far from bad, still I was surprised when she started kinda opening up to me. She basically told me about her crush and talked me through half a years worth of gossip. Just typical 14 year old girl stuff.
Next week, out of the blue she started telling me about how she smokes weed. At first I thought about telling my parents but that would make things worse because she would probably run away again, which she did anyways just a week later, because my parents caught her smoking cigarettes in her bedroom(which is right next to our parents one). She just disappeared after school. We only found out that she went to CPS bc she sent a snap from an account that my parents also have access to. After a week in a foster family she was sent back home, CPS said she had no reason not to. After a couple weeks of passive aggressive comments and avoiding each other we started talking again and just like before she started opening up again and told me she was doing molly.
I again didn't tell my parents, it wouldn't matter anyways. She'd just leave again. At that point I still kinda gave a sht about her but then, on a random Tuesday like 4 weeks ago she told me she was leaving again, because my dad had had gotten loud when she lied about where she was the evening before and kept on insisting my parents were the liars although they had definitive proof that she was in fact at a friends house and not where she was supposed to be.
She left three weeks ago and ran away to CPS a third time.
During the last three weeks she just ran away from the temporary housing 3 times.
The third time was last Friday and she's been gone ever since.
She left town and we found out that she is currently in some small town like 200 km away and we only found out becaus a scared "friend" of hers called the cops today bc she overdosed on a party yesterday. They're looking for her now and she's confirmed to be alive and in good condition.
Now I didn't take it personally I just thought that her idea was really stupid and im not mad because she left me, or at least not anymore but because she completely destroyed my parents. They have not stopped looking for her the last five days and it just sickens me to see this scum of the earth destroy their lives and not give a shit, as she said in a text she sent one of her friends(They also told us that my sister was doing coke).
Im just disgusted, my parents are falling apart and shes out partying.
I know I could have just told my parents she was gonna leave but she promised me she would try to talk to talk to them first and try to figure out a solution somehow, but she obviously didn't.
And any parent who's ever had their kid run away can confirm, your child disappearing after school is extremely scary, now just imagine how it feels to not only not know where they are and also be told that their kid overdosed on pills(probably benzos).
I should also probably mention that my parents weren't in any way abusive or giving her any reason to leave.
She just doesn't gaf about anyone but herself.
Can someone please tell me if I'm still forced to care if I'll ever see her again?
