Cleaning kitty ears

Cleaning kitty ears

Hi!

So...my adorable kitty Nova is currently getting her thyroid medication as a cream we rub just right inside her ears. It's compounded into a transdermal cream to make it easy.

However, she is starting to loose her little ear fluff fur. And debris is starting to build up where we rub the medication 2x a time. As you'd expect.

Not in the ear canal, but just "in" like...lol the cat ear triangle part? Sorry I don't know how best to say it.

(Photo shows her ears, with fur loss and some debris/dirt inside)

So we want to clean it.

I found some products on chewys that are little disposable finger gloves with some fluid on them that..the ingredients I recognized were stuff like salicylic acid and aloe...kinda typical skin cleaning and soothing stuff.

But I'm guessing a wet cotton ball and light wipe would be fine.

Nova actually has been prone to ear infections so Im nervous about putting ANY fluid near her ear canal. ...but maybe without her fur fluff to protect the canal, it might need cleaning....I don't know.

Any advice appreciated.
