Can a trickery domain cleric that worships Illmater work?
I have never played DND but me and my friends have been researching it and are going to try and get into it soon. As a result I have been trying my hand at creating an interesting character. Skipping all the details basically my character was a slave and while enslaved protected a lot of other slaves by taking the blame for things etc. as to take on the suffering instead, hence the illmater link. I was thinking of his life after slavery as sort of emancipating slaves wherever he can find them and this is where I think choosing the trickery domain to free slaves by using illusions etc. could make for an interesting character. Basically using the deception for holy, unselfish means and not for mischief. Probably makes no sense but I thought it was an interesting idea anyway.
